Well, ah, you see, she's my creator. Writer, duh, and very interesting. She got the part about Stormwings not liking onions wrong though. So, has anyone read any of those word-portals?

I read the Song of the Lioness series when I was a kid, and they became iconic to my personal literary development. ;) With only Narnia before them in my fantasy experience, I was thrilled with the idea of a girl doing all that cool stuff. They were the perfect thing for a ten year old tomboy, and I read them over and over.

I re-read them recently, and was surprised to find them just as enthralling as they were 18 years ago. Like Harry Potter, they're kids books that don't condescend to kids, and that grow with the character. And they're still a lot of fun for grownups. :D :D

I've never read any of her other stuff though. When I was hunting down the Lioness books for a re-read, I saw a whole new series (or was it two?) that I'd never heard of. I may give them a try, but I don't know if I'd like them as much, lacking the nostalgia value of the other ones....

The Immortals. That's the one I got pulled out of. :? Very unnerving, that.

Silence about that, Rikash. You needn't say more.

Um... Yeah. The Immortals books are set in the same world. I am a very pretty Stormwing. :D Keep that in mind.

You still reek.

Do not!
