I asked my friend to send me his copy of Michael Ende's 'The Neverending Story' to me. He's really cool and lends me books all the time. But the problem is he sent me 'Die Undendliche Geschichte'
He knows I'm a person who prefers things unedited....but bah...I don't know German!

There's a series of interplanetary adventures featuring Dray Prescot which stopped being published in English in the late eighties . . . but continued to be published in German. I'm about fifteen books behind now - I need to learn German to read the missing books. ARRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

It's always interesting the way foriegn titles get published, look at the differences between North American and English Publishing houses, covers, titles, books are sometimes split apart fo make better sales.etc..

The Dray Prescot series was written by Ken Bulmer under a pseudonym, and published by DAW in the States. When Donald A. Wollheim died and his daughter took over the company, she dropped this series, among others.
So Bulmer found himself in the weird position of having his books no longer published in the language he was writing them in. They continued to flourish in France and Germany, but I can't read either language.
