Curious, More Other Authors?

Post by Cail84 »

I was just at the Library and i noticed how little there is in it. Anyway of making other authors threads to talk about in there?? Like Tad Williams for his Memory Sorrow and Thorn Sereis and OtherLand?

And George R.R. Martin for his Song of Fire and Ice
Dragonlance stuff?
Robin Hobb for her Farseer stuff, Twany man Tril?

Thanks i was just wondering

Some of the other authors you mentioned have forums at one of our sister sites, Ahira's Hangar. Please feel free to drop in there any time. 8)

Is there any chance of opening up the Other Authors site here and creating a new thread devoted to one of the above, without having to leave this site, it would be nice to create a new one devoted to someone outside of those already listed.

We could conduct a poll and see what "Other" author on this board is most discussed.

I'd love to see Tad Williams, Robin Hobb, or George R.R. Martin get their own thread in the Other Authors Section, just at thought, now yours?

Since "The Library" is already populated by forums dedicated to Tolkien, King, Rowling, McCaffery and Lucas I see no problem with the idea of adding additional names.

Most of the forums in The Library were opened because we spent so much time talking about them that they took up too much room in other places, usually General Sci Fi/Fantasy Discussion.

If you would like to see a new forum open up in The Library, I suggest choosing a specific author and starting a topic in Announcements asking for comments and feedback. Then, if it looks like it would be frequented, PM Vain and ask him.

btw, do we really need a McCaffrey forum? It doesn't really get posted in much (I know, at the time there were quite a few topics floating around Gen SF&F).

That's the problem with setting up Library forums - A particular author can be a popular topic of discussion for a while, and then people will move onto something else - the Stephen King discussion was very popular for a while, but isn't as much now (although some new members are reviving it atm).
You really have to be sure that people will continue to talk about that author.
