Damm! What a powerful flick! Charlize Thieron definately deserved the Oscar for that mindblowing performance! Delivered a one-two punch so consistenly I felt like I was beaten to a plup by a prizefighter at the end, and crying freely...
I finally got around to renting Monster and watching it. As you both say she deserved that Oscar!
I never really paid much attention to Charlize Thieron but she put on a great performance!
Have either of you watched the documentary that was made about the real 'Monster' the film was based on?
I saw a couple, and it is all so tragic how easy it is to damage a person irreperably. I loved the film. There was an interview inthe Guardian with the director a few months ago, who said at one point that she still feels that Wuornos should have faced the death penalty, as her life was beyond hope and she was too 'damaged'. Interesting, although surprisingt hat she should say that.
The reality is in this head. Mine. I'm the projector at the planetarium, all the closed little universe visible in the circle of that stage is coming out of my mouth, eyes, and sometimes other orifices also.
