All Time Favorite Star Wars Moment

Post by Worm of Despite »

Let's hear it: what is your favorite scene in the whole trilogy? Prequels can count too, I guess.

Anyway, I've got two:

#1 "if you will not turn to the dark side, maybe she will" and the subsequent but short battle where Luke kicks the crap out of Vader as those deep choral voices go "ahhhhh" in the background. Gave me chills the first time I watched it.

#2 Darth Maul versus Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. That fight just took my breath away. Maul was so damn cool (too bad Lucas killed him off), and, as far as I'm concerned, there's nothing cooler in the Star Wars universe than a red, double-bladed light saber. I only wish they'd shown the fight in its entirety, rather than cutting it alongside Jar Jar Binks and Anakin's "oh wow I'm in a space ship".

I think that was "Who's scruffy looking?" Frankly I think Solo must have been a Nerf Herder at some point.

I suppose my all time favorite moment was the sound Lando made when his leg was grabbed by the Sarlacc’s tentacle.

Anything with an ewok!

No, actually, when Luke sliced open that thing and climbed inside to stay warm.

So, so many. When R2D2 & C3PO seperate in the desert, the next scene shows R2D2 strolling along and then a little jabba comes up and shocks him. At that moment, all music is cut out and the only sound is of R2D2 tipping over and crashing into the ground and it makes the sound of a trashcan falling over.........oh I love that little sound and the image, CUR THUD!!!!!!

The first 6 minutes of the 1st movie...had never seen anything like it.

It's all downhill from there. Lucas is completely full of himself.

Though I am hopeful regarding the next, and last flick.

I've heard it might not be the last. Which would disgust me.

The end credits, love 'em. They are amongst my favourites. Bridget Jones's Diary being a close second to all the SW flicks.
The reality is in this head. Mine. I'm the projector at the planetarium, all the closed little universe visible in the circle of that stage is coming out of my mouth, eyes, and sometimes other orifices also.

If by "1st movie" you mean the Phantom Menace I can understand your point although I thoroughly enjoyed the three way light sabre battle.
If by "1st movie" you mean A New Hope then I don't quite understand your point but to each his own.

I think Gunslinger is talking about TPM, and I agree - for the first time we saw REAL Jedi kicking ass and running at super-speed, all of the great things that we always thought we could do when we played Star Wars as kids. But the greatest thing I've ever seen was the 3 way battle with Darth Maul.

In the first movie, every scene with Obi-Wan in it, especially that three way battle with Darth Maul. :yeehaa:
Whenever Hans tried to hit on Leia, that was always funny! :haha:
Yodas fight with that Dooku guy.
The scene when Vader kills that admiral or whoever. "Apology accepted."

TESB - when Luke steps on the elevator plate and goes up to the freezing chamber in the Cloud City.

Vader's breathing, the lighting and smoke used in the scene and Vaders's "The Force is strong with you, young Skywalker. But you are not a Jedi yet!"

Perfect, just perfect.

In the first movie when Princess Liea (sp?) is brought before the Admiral to watch the destruction of Tatooine and Darth Vader is standing behind her - the top of her head only comes up to his sternum area. Boy, that actor was tall!!!

Destruction of Alderaan. Honestly, after watching Jedi, they shoulda destroyed Endor, not Alderaan.
