Post by Revan »

WOWOWOW!!! :D :D :D

This is going to be so cool. :) 8)

So do you think he´ll be after revenge? He certainly seems to be angry... and how have the Elohim not stopped him? :?

I think this new book has given us so many possibilites :D A more larger scope than the previous ones it seems. :D

My German is pretty rusty (I don't oil him as much as I should), but it means, "good health to you." You say it after someone sneezes. (I always preferred that to "bless you," since I was never cut out to be a clergyman.)

Anyways... back to the discussion, what do you think is going to happen with this Elohim? :)

Do we think that the Elohim harbinger and Kastenessan are one and the same?

No, the Elohim that was sent to warn the peoples of the Land of, amoung other things, Kastenessen. It wasn't him. Why would he warn them? He's going to be a big enemy of the Land.

I'm not sure that he'll be an enemy, necessarily. I pretty much consider the Elohim enemies, and if he opposes them, he could be on our side.

No... don't you remember the vision Linden had at the beginning? It was snake-lava like creatures destroying the Land... and I think we should all be certain that they the Skurj Anele speaks of... Linden and Thomas would be opposed to any destroying of the Land. And thus be opposed to Kastenessen...

Very good point Roger... but still... I think he'll turn out to be an enemy in some cases... he going to want revenge on the Elohim for what they did to him... And the Skurj, which he once trapped, answer his call now... and are under his control... whereas before they weren't controlled... because they needed an Elohim to restrain them... And what can such creatures be used for, except distruction?

Kastenessan was his grandsire, as Kastenessan was the sire of the Sirens.

You're thinking of Esmer. dlbpharmd is talking about the Elohim who presented itself to Mithil Stonedown and the Ramen, warning of croyel, Sandgorgons, etc.

I guess I assumed that the harbinger and Esmer were one and the same. He has such seemingly duplicitous purposes.

I could be wrong, of course.

If it wasn't Esmer, I don't think it would have been K. He strikes me as a being that would have a tremendous amount of anger, and may even present a greater danger to the Land (if Esmer can travel through time with impunity, K could too) than Foul.

Foul's character is so ambiguous right now - and purposefully so, I'm sure.

I'm sure some of the Ramen who witnessed the harbinger must have been alive when Esmer turned up. In which case they would surely recognise him...

You're absolutely correct. It was only half a generation ago that the Elohim appeared to the Ramen, and their description of that "being", and their description of Esmer, are completely different.

Given that a generation is considered to be thirty years, that means the Elohim appeared to the Ramen roughly fifteen years ago. They would know.

Which brings us back to...was it Kastenessen? I'm inclined to say no. I don't see Kastenessen wandering around, warning people. I see him causing some havoc.

Agreed. At the risk of being repetitive, I think that K might present a bigger threat than Foul at this point. We really don't know what Foul is capable of.
