Scientists at the University of Durham have created the first plastic magnet to work at room temperature. A possible application could be for the magnetic coating on hard discs, allowing for new, higher-capacity discs.

I only just noticed this post. That's a very interesting concept, plastic magnets, the chemistry of the process sounded a bit dubious to me, but I guess they know more than I do about it (although I'm quite sure free radicals aren't always charged particles).
