ooooooooo have just found out that He Whose Name Must Be Shortened is coming to our little town for a book signing! oo er mrs.

He'll be at the Assembly Rooms on George Street Wednesday 10th November from about 6pm I thinks. Tickets £3 from Ottakars also on George Street.
Who wants to stand in the queue with me? EdinburghEmma is sadly now From Afar and so cannot make it. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure what my shift is that week. Eek. I might be working until 8pm. wot a conundrum. I may have to pop in on my break and push to the front.

Most of us are going to the Manchester one on the 11th, which is quite From Afar if you're in Edinburgh.

He's not coming to most of North America, either.

No Canada, Mexico, or the eastern half of the USA.

I think it's a matter of population density.

Australia: 7,686,850 sq. km, approx. 19,546,792 people

Britain: 244,820 sq. km, approx. 59,778,002 people

The UK is a relative fish-in-a-barrel scenario, so you can reach a lot more people with a lot less travelling. That said, a tour of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide would have been worthwhile.

Perhaps we should be careful of asking too much of SRD. He isn't as young as he used to be, and it must be pretty fatiguing to undertake such long tours. Remember, we really want him to finish the Last Chrons!

If population density is what they're after, then he ought to come to the East Coast of the US. He'd get a lot bigger bang for his buck here than out in the great open spaces of the American West.
