Will the circle be completed?
What with all the symbolism about time (the race track thing Morbius loop that Jeremiah made), the arch of time in the Land and the convergence between TC and Foul, is it possible that at some stage there'll be some kind of "circle" whereby it's shown that TC and Foul are one and the same, Foul as the representation of TCs own dark side, and the resolution being that somehow the arch of time is broken and somehow TC wipes everything clean and starts the world over, going back in time to set the Land going again from the time of the Old Lords etc etc... sort of like an infinite loop - the Land is great again, but there's still the seed of Foul in there because TC created it all and it's part of him?
or something?
or something?

I don't wish to be rude, but I detest the idea of a circle!
Happily I very much doubt it will be like that - as these books have way too much reality invested in them for something like that.
Again, happily, the forthcoming titles express something actually natural: ie. "Shall Pass Utterly" and "The Last Dark".

The end of everything
I'm new to the Watch but have been reading SRD's TC novels for years. I think that it is very significant that someone capable of building (Jeremiah) is now present in the Land. Linden healed the Land previously because it was sick. Maybe Jeremiah will rebuild it because it has been destroyed.

I agree, and since I think that Jerimiah has been in the Land for about the last three thousand years he will know what to rebuild, or how it should be done right.
The whole story is one of sorrow and hurt for the Land and it peoples. It needs to have a somewhat happy ending. At least one without Foul. Hopefully he'll be the one trapped in the mobis circle.

How has he been in the land for that long? Has this been the subject of another thread?Jerico wrote:I agree, and since I think that Jerimiah has been in the Land for about the last three thousand years he will know what to rebuild, or how it should be done right.

Also Roger told her so behind Haven Farm. Something like 'why are you worried about him? He's just meat, there hasn't been anyone home for ten years'
It's been mentioned on other threads, by me and others. It kind of makes his building blocks of Revelstone and Mt. Thunder take on bigger meaning, and also the Arch in his room.
He may have spent the time with TC learning everything he could about the world he was trapped in.

Jeremiah as Creator
I just got through reading (at least some of) the content in 'Jeremiah in the Land.' It was pointed out to me that some think that his mind traveled to the Land when Linden did the first time. One big question comes to mind then. Why Jeremiah and not anyone else around the bonfire? SRD sort set a precedent with travelers to the Land. They are unconscious in the 'real world' during their stay. The exception was Hile Troy who, I believe, died in the fire in the real world. Jeremiah's status as a catatonic in the real world is out of step with previous characters.
As for a circle, I don't believe that SRD will use that as a theme. He seems to work more on the concept of duality.
The Creator is unsettlingly absent. Let's think about some parallels here.
Creator = creation
Foul = destruction through Despite and despair
Jeremiah = creation
Roger = destruction?
Joan = mindless despair
Covenant = controlled chaos
If the world will be destroyed and remade, maybe Foul and the Creator will be replace by their real-world counterparts.
Of course the TC, Joan, Linden triangle is hard to place in this scheme.
Now I'm tired.

Spoiler
Which brings me to another thought. There has been speculation about TC merging with Foul. Going along with the concept of duality, if Foul is one side of TC, why is the Creator not another side? In the first series, the creator (ochre robe man) spoke to him before his first translation and after his defeat of Foul. In the second series the Creator (ochre robe man) tested Linden. But he did not speak to her after she left the Land. TC did.
