Monk!

Post by kevinswatch »

Wow, I can't believe we don't have a Monk topic yet.

Am I the only person who watches it?

I think the mix of humor and drama is great. It's a lot of fun to watch.

Plus, the whole concept of an OCD detective is great.

I probably just enjoy it since I'm a little obsessive-compusive myself... I've been getting worse as I'm getting older, too. Heh. Not good.-jay

I think it is just brilliant. He reminds me just a little bit of Hercule Poirot.

Quite good. The wife loves it.

You're not alone! |G I love monk, he's hilarious and is a program that my kids enjoy too. So far my favorite episode is the Pilot. I love the scene when the dead guy salutes.

I can't way for the third season :D

Heh.

So far, this season has been kind of a bummer. The new girl is just annoying. Bah. I hope it goes back to the good ol' Monk, soon.-jay

I just don't pay much attention to her:P Monk still makes me laugh (Tony Shalhoub is great)
Did anyone knows why Sharona dissapeared from the show?

:( I missed that episode :x

In real life, she probably left because of $$$.

On the show, they just sort of said that she left to go back to her ex-husband for no apparent reason.-jay

Yeah. Sharona wasn't even in the episode. It wasn't a very good sendoff. Oh well.-jay

LOVE this show, too. I'd put this right under Battlestar as my favorite on TV. Of course, now that Battlestar is "ended," I guess it gets bumped to the top.

Damn shame that they're ending it with season 8. I'm already in mourning! Monk and Psych are the only two shows on right now that I DVR (well, except for Married with Children - but that's an entirely different generation of show <grin>).

Just finished the first box set, it's kinda nice. Wife like sit a lot.
I'd hesitate to put it number two after BSG but hey, maybe that's just me eh? ;)

what did you think of the ending of this series? I thought it was AWFUL, a real hack job.
Spoiler
The story line was completely contrived. Trudy has a kid 26 years ago, she thinks the kid is dead, but the judge kills Trudy, the obgyn, the midwife just to hide the birth of a kid out of wedlock so he can get a job!?!?! puleese! then the kid is alive but Trudy didnt know. Didnt she wonder where the kids body was when she died at birth???? Crap, forced and contrived.

I was looking for if Hanson's Disease came up in shows other than random House cases. Monk had at least one whole episode revolving around Leprosy! How accurate were the storytellers?
