Currently in Eyes of the Void, the second book in Adrian Tchaikovsky's Final Architecture trilogy. As always, he doesn't disappoint.

Strangely, I've been reading lately. It's been a long time. I read Beggars in Spain, by Nancy Kress. They genetically modifying embryos, removing the need for sleep. It was good.
Also just re-read The Last Dancer, and now re-reading The A.I. War - The Big Boost , all part of Daniel Keys Moran's Continuing Time series. Among my handful of favorite series, along with TCTC, Malazan, Earthsea, Galactic Milieu, and Neverness. I'm rereading these two, the third and fourth, because a fifth just came out that I'm going to read next. Also a book of short stories came out which I haven't read yet. Then the second part of the AI War is apparently coming soon

Sheesh I finished this one, hoping to immediately continue with part 3, only to find out it won't come out until the end of April. I thought it'd already been published otherwise I wouldn't have started on the series yet.Spiral Jacobs wrote: ↑ Currently in Eyes of the Void, the second book in Adrian Tchaikovsky's Final Architecture trilogy. That’s certainly better than spontaneously humanly combusting.

In the mean time, I've finished a complete re-read of the First Chonicles. I'd forgotten how brutal it can be at times. I already put the second chrons on my ereader so I'll probably re-read them too. This is also the third time I paid for them

I've always found TWL to be the most brutal of all of them. (But if you really want brutal, then the Gap books is where you'll find it.)
Finished the First Law trilogy. I went direct to the "sequel" (Red Country @SoulBiter ) and skipped the "interlude book, Best Served Cold, before going back and reading that.
Now I'm reading Sharp Ends, short stories set in the same universe, and touching on some of the characters.

Yeah the Gap is also pretty unrelenting, I think is the proper term.

Well, went from re-reading The First Law to re-reading "The Broken Empire" by Mark Lawrence. Finished "Prince of Thorns" and King of Thorns," now on the final book, "Emperor of Thorns." Good books, although I sometimes feel he's trying too hard. Must keep an eye out for his other series, "The Red Queen's War."

I am going to go ahead and download the others you suggested.
I found Logan remarkable as well (still alive). Many of The Named had such quality character depth in the series, which is rare in a book with secondary characters. Hated seeing any of them go back to the mud.
