What will Harry get for his O.W.Ls?

Post by Revan »

heh, what do you think? I think we all know that he will get O in DADA... An E in Transfiguration... i seem to remember he did rubbish in Divination... and well in Potions and Charms... what about Ron and Her- leave her out, she'll have gotten all O's. What are your theories? :)

An O in Defense, obviously. An A or E in Transfiguration, and an E in Charms. An A or an E in Potions. An E or an O in Care of Magical Creatures. Probably and A, at most, in Astronomy, though he might fail that. I think he'll fail History of Magic and Divinations too.

I think he'll get what he needed to continue on the auror's path. In particular, I think he'll do well in potions, because he learned a lot from Snape, despite Snape trying to make him feel incompetent.

Curious as far as what people think constitutes an O? Many places I have read has nearly everyone saying Hermione will get all Os. But, do you think she has the imagination to go 'above and beyond' in her practical exams to earn Os?

I'm not sure... She'll probably get all of them O's but one; Whish will be E. And she'll probably cry about it. :P

I had to be reminded what the order of ranking for O.W.L.s were. So Es are better than As.

In that case, since there is no practical exam, I'm pretty sure Hermione will get an O in History of Magic. And maybe in Arithmancy (sp?), since I don't really know what all that entails in Rowlings created world.

Even with the practical, Hermione will most likely get an O in Charms, as I know she's been practicing above grade level in that subject.

But, I don't know how exams such as this are typically graded in the British system. If you get 100s and do everything expected, would you earn the equivalent of an O? Or, do you need to somehow earn 'extra credit' on an exam to get an O?

If they were asked to do spells above and beyond what's expected of them, I would think most of the DA would get Os in Defense Against the Dark Arts. But, if they only performed to what was requested, would they still earn the O?

Nearly Exhausting Wizarding Tests.

Wow... there really is a Troll grade - Fred and George weren't joking.

To tell you the truth
Spoiler
I was hoping Harry would get more O's than he did - just to show Snape he wasn't as dumb as Snape seems to think - or, at least, treat him. :P
