Bloom County, with Calvin & Hobbes and The Far Side not far behind.

Bloom County was for me the premier comic strip event in the '80s.

I am right there on the Bloom County bandwagon. I loved that strip. Bill the Cat's famous AcK! still makes my eyes tear everytime I think about it.
The Far Side is right there as well.
Another of my all-time favorites is B.C. I don't know if that's still running...I haven't seen it here in years. :?

I still have all the Bloom County books. I agree, it was the best strip of the 80s. Didn't care too much for Outland.

Steve Dallas was a roll model for me.

Damn, Cail...I still have the books as well! I also have an old Far Side book. My B.C. book has gone missing. :(

I read a few webcomics. My favourite has to be Ctrl Alt Del.

Seems to be a trend here.

Calvin and Hobbes first and foremost. Followed by The Far Side, then Bloom County.

All three of the above are timeless classics. Hard for me to imagine any new comic stripscoming close to what they accomplised, at least in my eyes.

Early on, I really liked Drabble, but it seemed to lose it's appeal to me many years ago.
