Will anyone wait for the entire Third Chronicles?

Post by dukkha »

When the Second Chronicles were released (yes I'm that old) I waited for the trilogy to be finished before reading it. I couldn't stand reading one book...then waiting a year...then another....then waiting a year. So I simply waited for the entire thing to be released.

I'm wondering - did anyone else do that? And would anyone else wait for the Third Chronicles to be finished? Being able to talk about the books here I guess makes it mandatory to read them as they are published...but it's gonna be painful! It's so great to be able to read the entire series at one time.

I had it easy. I didn't read the series until White Gold Wielder was released (and at the same time, The One Tree came out in paperback).

But there's no way I can wait for all four books to come out before reading them. I have to read them as they're written. :-)

If I buy the 3rd Chrons and don't read them, I'll be killing myself. I'll have to read each book when it comes out, like my mom did when the 2nd Chrons came out. I can't wait!  :)

I would read them as they came out even if they published them one page at a time, a month apart!!!

No Way! I will read each one and wait until the next arrives.

Let me add this one to the thread...

How many are going to take the next 18 months to reread (or reread for the umpteenth time) the first six books, in preparation for book seven? :D

I don't think I have the self control to wait until all four books come out. I will begin reading each on the day it hits the store!

I'll just read them over again while I wait for the next one, till they're as worn and comfortable as the rest.

Come to think of it...at our current pace, we may actually be ready to dissect the first book of the third chrons by the time it's released :) Now wouldn't that be awesome !

I was just about to say something to that effect too, Vain!

One page a month would work for me too.

Could never do that. I'll do as I did with the Gap series. When the second comes out I'll read the first just before and when the third is out I'll read The first and the second and so on.

I think it is funny that we are going to speculate on these books like crazy until they come out! I have a feeling that the joke will be on us. Who knows whats going on in SRD's mind. He probably knows the Watch and may even be reading now that he is working on the next chrons and may do something just to slip us up! The laugh is going to be on us! SRD is going to have a lot of fun making us guess! :D

Everyone is always saying that about Martin over at ASOIAF, too!

But I don't think that will happen with either one of these authors. They both have such well-plotted out work, I don't think they would let their fans get them off course. :|

Have faith! :D

There is no way I would wait for all the 3rd Chron to come out to read them - and yes, I will definitely be reading 1st and 2nd again before they come out.

On a personal note, when the 2nd Chronicles came out I was in College and did not do as well in school because I SPENT TOO MUCH TIME READING and not enough time studying!! A couple of years ago, I decided to go back to school and have been doing really well... Hmmm, that may change now. The 3rd Chrons will be coming out right about the time I will be applying to grad school - so good luck to me! You have to set your priorities, right?
But hear then, for good or ill. I fulfill the law of my creation. My maker can require no more of me.

NO way will I be able to wait for the whole trilogy+1 to come out...it'll be like my mom and the harry potter books...anyone have any idea what a trilogy+1 is REALLY called?

I certainly will not wait. Then rather reread them after I have them all together.

In a word, no.
