Y'all are Invited - Invitation Updated
:::double posting in the SRD General Discussion forum:::
Anyone interested in a sort-of Elohimfest in September of next year in Florida? Beorn's Bar Mitzvah is then, and if anyone wishes to come and hang out around the ceremony y'all are more than welcome. Although I'm sure I'll be going nuts that weekend and my time will be limited.
Here's the email I've been sending family and friends.
Dear Friends:
Please save the dates of September 8 and 9, 2006 to come to Gainesville to celebrate Beorn's Bar Mitzvah. If you can only come one day, please come on September 9, as the official ceremony is an afternoon and evening service on Saturday, September 9. We plan on inviting everyone to join us for Erev Shabbes services and dinner at the Lubavitch Jewish Center on Friday night, but it's just an opportunity for all of us to be together, as Beorn will not be taking part in that service at all.
Unfortunately, I need to start looking into blocking off some hotel rooms now, as the UF Gator Football team has an at home game that Saturday and nothing will be available if I wait to do this. I need to know if you come, how many people you will need in a room, what type of hotel you wish to stay in, how far away from Gainesville you're willing to stay, and what type of budget I need to try and find. Being a game weekend, I am not too hopeful about finding extremely reasonable rates within town.
Looking forward to your replies.

danlo, we're about 90 minutes to two hours away from Tampa Bay by car, depending on how heavy a foot you have. It would be wonderful to have a group of Watchers here to join Beorn's simcha, and to just let loose for awhile during a stressful weekend.
And ya never know. If the game is scheduled for 12:30 PM, there may be tickets available for Watchers to go to the Swamp while I'm doing last minute details.
Duchess, bummer, but I can totally relate.

OK, all. I'm serious if any Watchers want to come.

I would love to be able to come. I am not sure if we can though. Where are you in relation to Sanford? We used to live there.
If women were in charge, the military would have to do bake sales in order to buy more weapons.

you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?

i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

Me too! Right now I'm still stressing about feeding everyone. Once Beorn comes home from camp, the crunch of making sure his portion is as perfect as it can be will be on.i sure wish i had the bucks and the time to make it out there but my best wishes are wingin their way out there and i hope you all have a wonderful day on the day!
