Angelina Jolie is not who I imagined would be suitable to play Elena...tho' Jodie Foster is a good choice for Linden

Agreed.

Angelina could portray the following attribute that fit Elena:

1> Beauty
2> Intelligence
3> Inner Strength / Nobility
4> Madness
5> Passion

She's perfect.

1> Beauty Maybe *(I don't like her looks)*
2> Intelligence NO
3> Inner Strength / Nobility NO
4> Madness Sure, why not? She married Brad Pitt
5> Passion Perhaps

I defy anyone to watch the King Kong trailer and not agree that Naomi Watts would be wonderful as Linden Avery ...

Completely agree with Wayfriend. Naomi Watts would be fabulous as Linden.

(Not that I don't like Jodie Foster. I admire her very much.)

Now that I've seen Angelina Jolie on more than just the cover of Tomb Raider I can see how she'd be an EXCELLENT Elena.

She's can easily have a beleivable intense and wild look about her one moment and then caring the next.

And those that remember her wearing a vial of Billy Bob's blood around her neck as a necklace would have no problems buying to the fact that Elena is a little crazy.

Plus her body type seems to fit the mental image I have of Elena too, for some reason.

My 2 biggest problems with Angelina Jolie as Elena are:

a) She lacks Elena's impression of purity and innocence. Big time.
b) Isn't Ms Jolie covered in tattoos? No on my Elena please!

Jodie Foster would have been an almost perfect Linden, though - except she's now too old to do Linden in 2nd Chrons, when she was aged 30.

Can't they edit tatoos out these days?
"purity and innocence"? She dropped her clothes and offered herself to her dad!
:o
No, I know what you mean.

I'm not a big Jodie Foster fan but she would make a good Linden.
Too bad about the age but by the time they make the 2nd Chrons into a movie Alyson Hannigan (from Buffy) will be perfect.
So long as nobody mentions anything about BandCamp!
She's got the look.
(be careful about Googling a pic of her though. She's a Photoshoppers favorite. 8) )

You make a good case for her, HLT. There's definitely a volatile quality to Jolie that would suit Elena. And yes, she would make for an irresistible leader of the Council. High Lord Angelina. Mmmm...

I don't know ... Elena is beatiful, but in a wholesome and compelling way. Jolie is beautiful in a sexy and ingenue way. Elena's eyes need to be piercing, not sultry. Also, she would have to look like the daughter of TC, too.

You could probably come much closer to the mark if you don't think only in terms of actresses getting more than ten million per film.

Something like this. (Guess who...)

I can't view the image....but the error message tells me it's Milla Jovovich.
Not a bad choice. I would prefer Rebecca Gayheart. :D

No objections to Milla Jovovich! I've only seen her in The Fifth Element. Didn't see her Joan of Arc film The Messenger, but I can picture Joan being an Elena-like figure.

I've never seen any of Rebecca Gayheart's films. Looking only at photos, I'd have to say she isn't quite how I imagine Elena - but I don't really have a concrete mental image of Elena anyway. At least not as concrete as for Linden. And publicity stills are a poor way to judge any actor, so who knows?

Jolie's biggest problem is....she's not a very good actress, and wouldn't be able to pull of the range of emotion that Elena has.

Alyson Hannigan's a complete babe, I'd love to see her in anything, but she's really not right either.

Jodie Foster is certainly capable, but too old.

I'm going to go with either Naomi Watts, or Kate Winslet.
