Online tab sites to be shut down.

Mxtabs.net has already gone :?

This is just plain stupid. First off, it's not detracting from the artists' income, because 99.9% of artists don't have "official" tab books for sale. So it's not like people would be getting the music from anywhere else. When the majority of artists get their own purchasable music books, THEN they can start complaining about online tabs.

Secondly, it's just one person's interpretation of the song. And then that shared! What, do they think that people are going to download the tab and lyrics, learn to play it on their guitar and sing it and then not bother to buy the song itself?

And thirdly, they're shutting down tab sites for ALL instruments. I have never seen an official "artist" drum tab book. If they're going to remove my "illegal" means of obtaining sheet music to play on the drums, I'd at least ask for a legal means in the first place.

Boy, that's stupid. If I hear a song I want to learn how to play, I buy it. If I can't figure out part of it, I get the tab.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I'm a cord chart guy myself, but I sometimes research tab for intricate stuff, or stuff that's hard to make out, which is the more common thing, due to some bassists using the muddiest sounding bass they can find.....I'm sure the labels are more interested in doing this that the signed acts.

Oops.
Forgot I made this thread.

Why yes, yes I am. I haven't played in about a week, though. Things got moved around at Christmas and I'm too lazy to put them back :(
