How old is Roger?
ok, I know this is sort of a trvial question, but wasn't Roger like 2 or 3 years old in the first series? It was one year after TC lost his family before he went to the Land, but I got the impression that Roger was already one year old. Then the second chronicles comes out (ten story years later) he should be around 12 or 13. But in the ROTE (another ten story years later), he says that he had to wait till he was 21 to do whatever it is he's doing. Shouldn't he be like 22 or 23 or something like that? Did anyone else catch that, or am I just not thinking right?
either way, if the plot of the ROTE i set when Roger is finally able to be old enough to take care of his mother (you'd think, with his desperation, he would not have delayed his desire to take his mother from the place where Linden works) "about" ten years ago would be around the right time where Roger would have been 10 or 11, and then ten years before, Roger would have been a mere infant (less than 1) or 1 year old.

In LFB chapter 1, we know that Covenant and Joan lived for nearly a year after Covenant wrote his first book before Roger was born.
In LFB chapter 2, Roger was 6 months old when Covenant's book became successful, and another 6 months passed while Covenant tried to decide on his next book. At this point, Joan takes Roger to her parents to allow (or force) Covenant to begin writing.
Three weeks pass, and Joan brings Roger home to find Covenant sick with infection. His fingers are amputated, and he spends 7 months at the leprosarium. At some point during this time, Joan divorces him. At home, he burns both his old book and new manuscript, and "spen(ds) the autumn stumbling around the rim of madness." Winter turns into spring before he receives the fateful phone bill which compels him to walk into town.
So the best I can tell, at this point Roger is about 2 years of age. SRD has used some dramatic license in saying that 10 years pass between 1st and 2nd Chronicles, and 2nd and Last Chronicles. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
