Veronica Mars on UPN. Please someone explain to me why no one is watching this show except for me a few others? Look you can watch this and not hafta explain to people why you're watching the show with the silly name (BtVS), cause it has a regular name. Written by Rob Thomas (not the rock-n-roll singer) who also wrote Cupid, which I never heard of but alot of folks liked. Starring Kirsten Bell, Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohrig, Teddy Dunn and recurring guest stars of Harry Hamlin, Charisma Carpenter occasionally Alyson Hannigan (and one time cameos of Kevin Smith and Joss Whedon). The show is complex and well written, the universe does not reset after each episode, it has good actors. This is one of the series that's on the bubble for the new CW network.
The series first (2004 - 2005) season followed our enterprising Veronica (Kirsten Bell) to solve the murder of her best friend, Lilly Kane (daughter of the town's resident software mogul), and getting through the remainder of her HS years without her long time b/f Duncan Kane (Lilly's brother), who provided Veronica a path to their HS's 'in crowd' (AKA the 09ers, named after the zip code for the rich part of their town)? While navigating those two plots Veronca additionally needs to find out why her mother abandonded her dad, Kieth (Colantoni), and her, and why after one of the '09ers parties (party is an euphenism the 09er kids have to much money and time at their disposible, these parties get wild with a Capital W ) she woke up the next morning with underware around her ankles and alone?

I tried to watch that show. I did. But it just doesn't portray high school as I remember it, and I resent shows that don't follow reality unless they acknowledge that they don't follow reality. I dunno, maybe that's not it, but it just didn't sit right with me.

Got hooked on it last year (2008). What a WONDERFUL series! I SO wish I watched it when it was on! Great plots, great acting! Wow!! BIG recommendations from me for anyone who likes series like Buffy, Smallville, etc. Very smart, very intricate. Too bad they weren't able to pull off the FBI series, although it sounds like they are still thinking about it.

Reviving a very old topic - I finally got around to watching Veronica Mars last year, and it is excellent (though third season was a bit bumpy).
And now... they're raising money for a movie on Kickstarter.

Less than a day in, and they've raised $900,000 of their $2M goal. I am really looking forward to this.
