I've always liked Norge as a character. He is never mentioned, as far as I can recall, earlier in the story though. When he first appears is the first we have heard of him.

Interesting train of thought you've opened up here, Sky. Imagine the confusion Terisa feels at having this strange man appear in her apartment, apparently having come through her wall(!) As carefully as she could, she said, "This doesn't make any sense. I know you are trying to explain somethin...

I am no mental health clinician, but I would think that both depression and extremely low self-esteem would be fairly normal result for a person who has received such an amount of emotional neglect and abuse for her entire life. isn't her father's controlling behavior one of the key benchmarks/sign...

Wow, I can now actually read the forum without scrolling across - that was SO annoying. Thanks for fixing it, Vain. I may have complained about this in fact, when we were voting about changing the banner, but I think I was ignored. I never complained about it again, cause I figured no one els...

Hmmmm....So, I got Vain's email today about White Gold Dollars and all that stuff, and decided to check out this part of the forum, which I basically haven't had time to check out before. The first thing I noticed is that now people have different titles...and colors ! Than I noticed that my title h...

I loved The Forest House and other prequels to The Mists of Avalon . Foamy and I have even read a book by Bradley called The Fall of Atlantis , in which the characters are clearly related to characters that come later in the Avalon series. In fact, we've had fun trying to figure out how all the char...

And MsMary, who is, well, old enough to be my mother (wonder why that could be ), likes the trilogy too. Hmmm...Yes, I wonder why that would be, Foamy. ;) Yes, I very much enjoyed Pullman's trilogy, and his other books, as well. I have to say I have read a good many books technically classified as ...

Seasauce, I wholeheartedly agree with your comments. I wouldnt want any kid [nor mine] exposed to the Gap till they were a lot older .. its no bedtime story .. nor is it a cool teen read .. in parts its just plain nasty I agree, Sky. I wouldn't let my 16 year old read The Gap, even though she is ver...

Foamy, I really like the quotes you picked to post for these chapters. I was also struck by those passages. I was also struck by the way TC was so upset by all the killing. He is really disturbed by the killing he did himself, but also by the Bloodguard that was killed protecting the already dead Ta...

What's wrong with the word "fornication"? It's not a dirty word or anything.

As Adept Havelock says, "Fornication is very hard to do alone. " 8O ;)

Hmmm. I have been to Masada. I have to say that I never pictured Revelstone as looking like that. For one thing, Masada is in the middle of the desert, overlooking the Dead Sea. For another, the place where the actual city was is much higher up then I pictured Revelstone to be.

I agree with you, Vain. I don't think rape had to be the inevitable outcome for someone in TC's position. What Covenant did was a terrible crime, but it is ALMOST different from a crime here. Why? Because he a) thought he was in an imaginary land where nothing he did mattered. Its like making a stup...

Years before I read TCTC, a friend told me something about the books. He said it was about a man who gets transferred to an alien world, "and he thinks that it isn't real, and that what he does doesn't matter, so one of his first acts was to rape a girl." That was one of the reasons I was ...
