Our world has just as much beauty as the Land's. If humans could only cultivate their inner powers they would see as TC "sees" in The Land. I believe this ability was a common thing thousands of years ago in ancient tribes and such. Sadly, the age of industry and high tech has obliterated...

I always recommend people read TIW when I recommend them the series, and if they like it they usually read the whole series after that.. It's just an amazing book. But also the Final Chrons has been an amazing trip so far as well.. In time I might rate AATE as good a book as TIW, but I'll have to r...

For me, what's happening to/in Linden parallels what happened to/in Covenant in the first two books. The biggest battle TC had to fight was the conflict between his unbelief and his passion for the Land; the fear of being involved, the urge to shy away from any responsibility that might require a me...

My thoughts exactly - after watching two episodes of the Game of Thrones I am starting to feel HBO could be the one to adapt a Donaldson story (TCTC, Gap, Mordant). They have the budget, do not shy away from adult themes, and can handle a complex storyline without being boring or incomprehensible.

Or perhaps SRD has a stack of stock phrases written on small pieces of paper, e.g. "all right", "hellfire", "wait a minute", "thetic", "I am content" etc., and every 5 pages or so he pulls one from the stack and has to incorporate it to the text :twi...

By the way at firs I only saw the "miss Mhoram" part of the topic title, and for a minute I wondered whether Mhoram ever had a sister or daughter? :)

Realted question from the GI: Paul Meier: Hi Mr. Donaldson. You, by far, are my favorite author. Thank you for your writings; you have been truly blessed with enormous talent. Now my question. In the first chapter of AATE. You bring to Andelain the four ancient high lords plus Elana. Did you purpose...

Covenant still is white gold, and white gold is the keystone of the Arch, so I expect some sort of a reunification will take place and TC will just heal the Arch, himself, the Universe and everything (and thanks for the fish).

I absolutely love Donaldson's writing style and vocabulary. In a way I am similar (not in abilities just by disposition) in that I also 'see' in words and not in images (internally, I mean). Someone compared him to Tolkien earlier in the thread but Tolkien is very different: as a philologist he had ...

For me, Linden's plight/behaviour/main crime parallels the 1st Chronicles very nicely and is one of the central themes of the Last Chrons. In the 1st trilogy TC's capital crime was his unbelief and he had to go through a long journey to arrive at the point of accepting the effect of the Land on him ...

She could still be possessed by moksha who has been suspiciously absent from the happenings so far (apart from that interlude with the kresh).

Yes but now that Jeremiah has finally built his construct to trap the Elohim will not the same construct spare the Elohim from being consumed by the Worm - thus even if the Worm gets to the EarthBlood the Elohim can refill the world with EP afterwards? Sort of like Findail did with the Staff only on...

Who knows, SWMNBN might even be the means of LF's undoing in the end.
