i'd really like to know the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the 3rd ward... and what the new lore was aswell... That would be REAL helpful, wouldn't it? but fist, presumtion is a great flaw ;) Well LOOK who's talking! :) For example: if the new lore they were developing could unlock the ...

Yes, Shankar was sort of Harrison's musical guru. Aside from teaching George the sitar, he played on many of Harrison's recordings. I'm a BIG lover of Harrison's music, and it's amazing to think how incredibly different it would be if not for Ravi.

Music in TCTC

Here's a few quotes. The song made Covenant quiver, as if it concealed a specter which he should have been able to recognize. But Atiaran's voice enthralled him. No instruments aided her singing, but before she had finished her first line, he knew that she did not need them. The clean thread of her ...

Now THIS is a thread I can get behind!!!! My favorite is Reeses. The original PB Cups are great. The Easter Eggs are even better! But the ultimate is the snowmen that I saw a year ago, BUT NOT THIS PAST CHRISTMAS!! :( :( They are the size of maybe 3 or 4 eggs, but thick!! Thick layer o...

I like it!! I reminds me of the names of some of the dragons in Earthsea. Orm was hugely powerful. Later, there was Orm Embar and Orm Irian. Caer Sylvanus pays homage in the same way. (I don't think there's any way to take "Caer Fist and Faith" seriously though. :LOLS:)

Forestal, I like the way you think (forgive the cliche) outside the box. I don't entirely agree, though. I think maybe the non-Kevin lore that Mhoram began was, eventually, powerful enough to get the 3rd Ward from wherever it was. Kevin had the 2nd guarded by some sort of barrier. Presumably, when t...

This conversation has gotten very confusing. Let's see: In Only Those Who Hate, Triock/turiya says: "It is the voice of a Forestal. Garroting Deep has sent Caer-Caveral to Morinmoss." This was in response to Covenant's questions concerning: In the air before Covenant danced f...

OH BABY!! GREAT MOVIE!! :) Bullseye was nasty, and fantastic! Elektra was incredible, and... *whew*!! I'm pretty happy :) My only complaint is that some of the fights were shot too close-up, where you can see faces and hands swinging past, but can't see the choreography. Ah well...

The problem with the UN is that each delegate serves his own country's purpose (some more than others) rather than a specific world purpose. That's a good way of putting it. "If others in the world come out ahead, but my country loses in the deal, why should we make the sacrifice? We'll help w...

Yes! Good one Prince. :D Here's one of my favorites. When Vain bowed to Starfare Gem's mast, then stood staring at it in The One Tree: "Forsooth," responded Pitchwife with a light chuckle. "Had this Demondim-spawn not been gifted to the ur-Lord by a Giant, I would fear he means...

Re: the 3rd ward

danlo, I'm not sure how to read this. Are you suggesting that Foul had a hand in the Oath of Peace? Maybe he knew that such a philosophy would be incompatible with Kevin's Lore, and suggested it as soon as people began returning to the Land? it is said, somewhere, in the 2nd chronicles, that ...

I didn't vote at all, because I wanted the option that Sylvanus just described. However, there isn't any such thing as having the "authority to do what needs to be done." Who gives such authority? And how does something become an "international law"? If the US, China, Nort...

What, exactly, should an organization like the UN do? Should it prevent one country from invading another? It is incapable of this. Sure, it takes action when a country that has no chance against our combined might gets nasty. Maybe other little countries will think twice before invading someone els...

I started a thread called "Let's hear it for Mhoram", where I gave several of my favorite quotes by or about Mhoram. Drinny said that he thought one of them showed a weakness of Mhoram's, and the debate was a WHOLE lot of fun! :)

Grendel

For those who don't know, Grendel is, aside from the original, a comic book. IMHO, one of the very best comic books. The original Grendel was a man named Hunter Rose. (He changed it to that from Eddie. Last name unknown.) For those who've read it, the latest tales of that character just came ...

I think I remember Stone being her teacher, but I didn't remember Stone being a woman. The issue I'm thinking of is probably one before or one after she fell. As I said, it's a retelling of things. The original Stone was male. BIG guy. And since he was one of the Seven, he was one of her teachers. ...

I've been trying to write on this topic for days. Started a couple of times, and couldn't keep to a topic. I'm going to be brief now, just making/supporting one point. I'm reminded of a conversation on Star Trek: The Next Generation, between Riker and the Guardian of a long-dead civilization ...
