Good points all but something to think about: How the hell can you write TWO more books if the Worm is awake? The way Findal talked made it sound as if everything would come to an end as soon as the Worm was awakened. "it will shed this skin of rock and dirt and continue it's journey" is ...

It appears that their opinion of TC has turned 180 degrees since that time. And I doubt the sincerity of anybody who claims to have liked TC from the very beginning. I sincerely liked Covenant from the beginning. He was a leper, and I felt bad for him. If I had leprosy, I bet I'd be pretty whiney, ...

the stigma against atheism is sometimes overwhelming. as i said before, i live in the bible belt. and people around here view atheists to be along the same lines of satanists, which i've always found amusing b/c if we don't believe in god, then we don't believe in satan either. there are some circu...

One of the hints I see that fits this theory is the repeated admonition that Linden screwed things up by creating the Staff. Even if this is wrong, it hints that more Law may not always be good Law. Wayfriend.. who said the Staff is bad?? Roger did when he was plating the TC lookalike. Roger also s...

Re: Joyce - see, this is why I don't bother reading him. Academics can keep Joyce to themselves for all eternity, as far as I'm concerned. I love Joyce. We had to read A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man in high school, and it had a huge impact on me. I had so much fun writing a paper about tha...

That's one fo the reasons I like Mordant's Need so much: the character is seriously flawed, but she learns to question, reason, and make choices. Not all are good, but she learns and fights to correct and make things right... |L That's one of the reasons I adore Terisa. But I actually didn't like h...

Do something they wont expect, Linden.... try being useful for a friggin change! Either way, it occurs to me that a new Law or something has been forged by what Linden did. Oh, I'm glad you brought this up. Immediately after it happened, I was thinking the same thing -- but then I forgot abou...

Stormrider, The PC movement I'm referring to started in 1989-1990, and had nothing to do with eliminating words like "faggot" or "nigger". PC has nothing to do with manners and everything to do with control of speech (and ultimately thought). Did you only read the first two para...

I'm rather drowsy due to my medications, and I am having lots of seizures. :( Yikes... That can't be good. I'm extremely tired of my living conditions, and I'm beginning to wonder why on earth I even bother. And I've been nauseated and light-headed for nearly a week, which has almost been a good th...

I agree.
I sure hope so. The thing that's gonna piss me off is if it's just Linden, Linden Linden all the time right up til the end.
I have a feeling you may end up pissed off.

I'll be pissed, too. I've already prepared myself for it.

As someone who falls into the liberal camp more often than not, I think it’s pretty clear that the crisis at the University of Delaware was created by some fascist lunatics who took liberal ideas and perverted them. As for political correctness… For me personally , it is about politeness. For exampl...

Linden rocks? When last we saw her, she had just aroused the Worm and destroyed the world and everything in it, all because of her selfishness. Nice going, Linden. Thus far, I still haven't seen any evidence to show how nature selected homosexuality as an evolutionary benefit, rather than accidentally passing it down like a genetic disease. Agreed. The fact that it still exists doesn't mean it was beneficial. It just means it wasn't sufficiently maladaptive t...

It's not a question for me that everything happened the way it was 'supposed' to happen. My only question has been: who is the one that is supposed to be "lost and found"? Who is the White Gold Wielder of legend? The legend refers to a "he" but that may have been due to the Theo...

Notice how Thomas Covenant was "Covenant" throughout the series, Hile Troy was "Troy", but Linden was never "Avery" I think in Covenant's case, it's just because the last name "Covenant" is much more inspiring than "Thomas" -- and the very definitio...
