Yeah, it was very cool listening to Stephen read his own work. I just wish I had gotten the tail end of Chapter One there. Grr. He also had two or three great diatribes during his talk. One dealt with the length of time it takes for him to write and why it takes so long. Another dealt with Linden Av...

Nothing wrong with 50 people coming, either. There was probably only about 25 at one of the Seattle signings -- although it was the second of two and perhaps the rest went to the first signing. :)

Here is the link to the reading:

www.signedpage.com/pictures.html

Just go to the bottom of the page where it says Videos. The file is 10.2 MB I believe and is only 9 minutes.

I am going to post it, if for no better reason to let people hear him speak. :)

I'll get it up when I can... I promise to post here when I do.

Only six minutes because computers suck more often than not. *grins* To be honest, I don't know why sometimes it will record only six minutes and other times it will record and hour 1/2. It makes no sense. Might be a power issue -- plugged in as opposed to working off of the battery. At any rate, no...

The Seattle Signing

Hi All, To those I talked to at the Seattle/Bellevue signing tonight, just wanted to say it was nice talking to you before the event. It was pretty damn fun. I just wish my recording went longer than six minutes -- at least I got him explaining why it takes him three years to write a book. *grins* A...

Yeah, absolutely, Romeo. It's just very sad that the book itself is a work of art but the map is not.

Yup, good ole' Strict On Sale date prevents the big chains of selling it early in the US. Pretty lame. But it keeps sales between independent and chain stores equal by not giving the book early to one or the other... The books are at least at the book distributor. I picked up a few copies today from...

I agree. The map isn't very good at all. It's like a simpler version of the Lynn Plagge map. The odd thing is: No one takes credit for the map in the book. There are no initials highlighting who drew the map, and there is nothing on the copyright page nor on the dust jacket. Strange. I picked up my ...

That's ugly as all fugh. :) The UK covers are atrocious, I think. The only thing they have going for them is uniformity, and who wants ugly uniformity. haha

Danlo, I have those first three Donaldson Holt hardcovers signed, and they are in great shape but I really wish we as Donaldson fans could get a nice looking re-released hardcover. Every year that passes, I get more and more passionate about starting a Grant Books type of publishing house, just so I...
