Oops, caught me making a grammar edit.

Landing a new engagement sooner than that would cut this bureaucratic torture short, would it not?

Good hunting!
Yes, I should have added that as well.
Also as part of long term unemployment, here in the UK, I have now to enter into a "compulsary" Work Placement. It has to be called Work Placement because the placements are with various charity shops dotted around the city. Shops usually run by volunteers. I mean, how can one be forced to do voluntary work! Sheesh.

That's scary, Io. Glad you're feeling better.

And job-hunting... Horrible at best, but that sounds awful.

There's always a silver lining. ;)

Good luck Vizidor. On the one hand, I sympathise. On the other, we have no comparable system intended to help people find work, so in a sense it may be the lesser of the two evils.

Fell down again in the bedroom this morning and have had to ask my daughter to help me have a shower when she comes over today. We have someone coming tomorrow to see about having a walk in shower that I can put a,stool in. And I've just been asked to join the panel for Dear Myrtle, which is a twice weekly genealogical advice hangout between the UK and USA which I can do from my armchair and feel useful again.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Hooray!!

I -regularly- think about names like "Myrtle" that were more common awhile back and aren't now.

Actually no, as it turns out.
When I approached a charity shop to do voluntary work over a year ago one of my references fell through. I took too long correcting the matter and eventually gave up the chase.
So when I was given a list of shops to choose from and I saw the one I'd applied for all those many months ago there was no need to look any further.
Hopefully I'll be accepted.

That sounds like almost as many hoops to jump through as starting a paying job.

Thanks U. Slow progress. I've managed to not fall over for 24 hours but the stairs are difficult. I have to go up on all fours then crawl to somewhere I feel safe to stand up. Luckily I only need to do that once a day. It may take me a few weeks to get back to normal.

This week I've started streaming some of my Hearthstone games on Twitch. I'm not very comfortable with broadcasting like that, but it helps that nobody at all is watching me, haha. I just spent the last two hours talking to myself as I play, even though I didn't have a single viewer.

My guild has been streaming raids on Twitch for a few months now. I forget about it most of the time. No idea how many people follow us.

I found your channel, but it was offline. Then I went AFK, so any potential activity would only have been observed by a cat or two.

I've kept this to myself for a week, but I think I am ready to share,

Wednesday of last week while watching the evening television with the family, I apparently passed out. Falling asleep in front of the tube is not uncommon for me, but this was different. When I came to, Dam-sel, Menolly, and Dam-et were all in a panic. According to them, I appeared to be gone; no pulse, no respiration, and my eyes were open and fixed. 8O They had already called the paramedics, but I came to when they tried to move me out of the chair and onto the floor for CPR.

Long story short, I spent a couple days in the hospital trying to find out what had happened. Didn't get that, just assurances that it was not a heart attack, not a stroke. etc.

Worse yet, last Friday was the day Dam-et was to end his summer at home and return to University. I'd planned to help him move...but I was in the hospital. Some of his friends assisted in the move, as did Dam-sel; when I was finally discharged, Menolly drove me up to Bellingham to see him and his new room. Since the last time I had seen him had been the wee hours of Thursday morning (when I was not in good condition at all), I surely did not want to leave that as the memory he had of me until he came home for the holiday break!

You have my full sympathy and understanding SD. Everyone tells me to take it easy so I'll pass the same advice to you. Do you know what caused it?

The waiting and not knowing is the worst. Hope it's nothing serious.

I'll second the 'take it easy' advice.

My head feels a lot clearer today. I'm walking Better but not good at stepping over obstacles. Sammy is keeping out of my way when I'm on my feet as I've trodden on him a couple of times. Still bumping into things on my left so the problem with my eyes is still there.
