All I remember is that one is lush and prosperous, and the other is harsh and decadent. Cadwal being the harsh decadent one as I recall.

Was Alend all that lush and prospecrous? I imagined it as a mountanous Russia. It was big and warlike and cold.

I guess from descriptions of the Alends, I imagine a Mongolian steppe type thing, which doesn't sound very lush now I think about it. :D
