What's "quickly?" I had to keep my ginger (whose the more domesticated of the two) in for nearly 3 weeks, and he spent most of that time trying desperately to get out.
When I had to keep the half feral female in for a week it nearly killed me.
Stag and I have stayed in many, many homes as part of our work; both in the US and Nigeria. The worst "hospitality" was a posh home, almost a mansion. It was Stag and I, Fawn of the Dawn, and a friend. We barely saw the host and hostess. They did not eat with us, some help put our food out. We slept comfortably enough but in the morning there was no water or electricity, and we were locked in a suite of rooms. We all laughed about it, and said it was better to stay in bush villages (which we've also done many times) where there might not be power or water either but at least you weren't locked in with no way to communicate to the host family.
