Apparently. Well, hopefully he'll have a good story when he gets back.

I'm obsessing about the fact that I want to write a fake Onion article for April Fools Day...

...and now that I'm here, getting happily distracted by Ms. Mary's avatar.
it's the Cheat!!!
And he's trying to throw a light switch rave! (Or light stick rave? I can't remember..)

It's a light switch. He has a light stick, but the switch is the important bit.

(Never heard of him. :D )

Debating whether to eat this ripe and slightly mushed banana.

(Autocorrect didn't like "mooshed". Then again, it doesn't like "autocorrect", either.)

Don't do it!

I can't stand the smell of bananas. Can't even be in the same room if someone is eating one.

I'm okay with "mooshed" in general though. It's a good word.

Haha, I was just saying in the galley how I hate ripe bananas. Slightly greenish ones I'll eat happily, but ripe ones...*gag*

Ya think?

I don't mind mushy bananas -- they're sweeter. The greenish ones taste slightly bitter to me. Yellow with a minimum of spots is perfect, of course. Unless you're making banana bread.

So yeah, um...I'm here to talk about bananas, apparently.

Not any color. Would not touch with a ten-foot pole. If the Zombie Apocalypse strikes and I'm starving and have a choice between a fresh banana and a live cockroach, it's going to be the cockroach every time. And cockroaches give me the heebie jeebies.

Yeah, I don't hate them that much. Unless they're mushy of course. That said, for a balanced diet, you'd have to eat them both, wouldn't you. :D

I love bananas. But Nigerian bananas ruined me for the ones they sell in the US. We have several different species and most are best when the peel is green. Much more complex flavor and sweetness than those South American things. Also we have purple bananas and red bananas, some very small. I was never a big banana eater in the US but here they are really something. Also I got into making smoothees for breakfast lately and they make them so creamy. Strawberries, bananas, yogurt, and a nugget of fresh ginger. Yum...

I have a literature review to write, so I am here to procrastinate. My shoulder is really getting better, I can reach for things again without shriveling in agony! My Viking outfit is making progress (made the beaded brooch thingy and hemmed the neckline of the Eura-style underdress tonight). Looking forward to Sunday playing music in church with some guys I really enjoy playing music with. It's been raining all afternoon which is weird for March. Parent conferences at school tomorrow and then SPRING BREAK!!!!

I'll improvise. Drywall is bound to have some minerals and whatnot, right? The list of things I consider to be less edible than bananas is pretty short.

I think I have some wires crossed in my nose or something. I dislike the scent of a lot of fruits, especially tropical types, but strawberries always smell like mold to me. I don't mind artificial strawberry scent, which is weird because a lot of artificial sweet scents smell horrible to me. I have a friend who is fond of an artificial caramel-scented air freshener, and to me it smells exactly like a mouse that's been dead for several days.

I suppose I may be a mutant, but this has to be one of the worst mutant superpowers ever.

Yeah, we've been getting far more rain for March than usual. But then, been in a serious drought, so rains started very late.

What am I doing here? Mentally preparing for my last day at work before my leave starts. :D

Starting up a new week. Today is Human Rights Day in South Africa, commemorating the 1960 Sharpeville massacre, in which 69 people protesting the pass laws were killed by police.

So it's a public holiday. It's also technically the first day of my leave, although of course I did not need a leave day for it.
