When Morn attempts suicide by programming the sickbay computer aboard Bright Beauty to give her a lethal dose of nerve juice, how does Angus foil her attempt?

You've done it again, Avatar! Congratulations, "breaks off the needle" is the correct answer! (I seem to recall that Angus infects himself by doing so and has to program the sickbay computer to give him an antidote.)

Your question!

Bugger.

Ok, since I'm reduced to feeding off previous questions to think of new ones...

How did Morn manage to conceal her pregnancy from Nick?

Which would be okay by the rules of this game. I'm tempted to do the same, myself, but I'm going to hold off on that for just a bit.

Morn reprogrammed the Captain's Fancy sickbay computer to erase knowledge of her pregnancy when she was examined for the correct dose of cat, I'm guessing.

That'll do. :D

I was hoping for "sick bay records were legally separate from the main datacore for privacy reasons" but the answer as given is certainly correct. :D

Your question. :D

You know, I really could be less adamant about this...I'll settle for 2 out of 3 reasons. :)

No no, you asked for 3 reasons, 3 reasons you deserve. :D Maybe somebody will come along who knows the 3rd one. :D

I think it was more that she hated him than he hated her, but it was also about being in control.

Yes, it is indeed more about how Norna wishes Holt ill "with such steady virulence"...so, that's one of the three reasons.

As for "it was all about being in control"...well, this is somewhat correct, but it has more to do with Norna's reaction to her situation, and Holt's reaction to her reaction...I don't think I can say more about this without outright giving the answer away.

Concerning Avatar's guess about "advice"...the third reason given for why Holt continues to keep Norna alive is "she kept him on his toes"...perhaps not the same as "advice" in meaning, but that's close enough for me.

So, two of the three reasons:

1. "He kept Norna Fasner alive precisely because she wished him ill with such steady virulence"...

2. ..."because she kept him on his toes."

I just need a third reason, centering around Holt's reaction to Norna's reaction to Holt's control, if you follow me. :)

Because he's a sadistic creep, but I can't remember the exact wording without looking it up.

The exact wording is "because he took pleasure in her utter helplessness", but "because he's a sadistic creep" covers that quite nicely, Sorus.
In truth, he could almost certainly have afforded to let her die any time during the past half century. He liked talking to his mother; he profited from her advice. But he could have done without it. He kept Norna Fasner alive precisely because she wished him ill with such steady virulence; also because he took pleasure in her utter helplessness; and finally because she kept him on his toes. Otherwise he was inclined to forget that he was mortal.
Well done, Sorus!
