Thinking about y'all doing the Shabbat stuff really has made me get in touch with the seasons.
(okay, I admit, some weeks I myself have tried to take a full day of rest from all or most of my "customary work" and timed it sunset-to-sunset.)

But like... about noticing the seasons...
I'm like, "and during this time of year, each week, the sun sets slightly earlier than last week."
simultaneously something to look forward to coming sooner, and a deadline to get a buncha stuff done by.

Gosh, how much do I miss the very natural break between the weeks that Sunday used to be prior to the lifting of Sunday trading regulations. I can imagine the Jewish Sabbath being an even more calming and enriching version of the same. :)

Having a Sabbath that's actually a day of rest is great. I don't feel obligated to run errands or work on projects. Perfect day for relaxing and reading.

It's funny, but slowing down is a thing that no longer comes easy to us in our frenetic modern world - it actually takes effortto do less but is always beneficial when you do. :)
