I hear ya. Frustrated by work seems to be my default state these days.

Tuesdays generally suck because they are generally meaningless but thank goodness this is a short week since we have Friday off for Spring Day which used to be called Good Friday.
Therefore I am feelin' fine. :-)

I know I live under a rock, but when did it stop being called Good Friday?

And when that inevitably offends someone, will they just call it Day?

I work for state government so I don't have Good Friday off. Going to take it off though. Not for religious reasons. What my GF thought was a sprained ankle last week turned out to be a broken one. Taking her for an MRI tonight and a doctor's appointment tomorrow to set a time for the surgery needed to fix it.

That's rough. Sorry. How's your house repair/rebuilding coming along?

We waited nearly 3 months to have the county approve the permit for the house. During that time the weather was mostly mild. As soon as the approval came through, the weather turned more often than not rainy. They finally got the brick up this week and will redo the roof on Tuesday at which point things will start to move quicker as the work won't be weather dependent. So I'm hoping that by the middle of next month we'll be able to move back in.

Today is Easter, so Hallelujah!! Christ is risen!! :D

Toward the end of last week, my Masters thesis was approved. Now I will have time to do some other things with my life!! My project was a smashing success, too: reading comprehension scores increased 12% in my students over the course of the third semester, which was a real home run.

In 3 1/2 weeks we leave for months in America. Suddenly, I am looking forward to it. It's not time off; much of it is road-tripping to raise funds for our work in Africa. But we do get to see our family, and enjoy things like 24/7 electricity, and drinking out of garden hoses. And not having to wear earplugs to church.

He is risen indeed!! Hallelujah!! Have a great weekend whatever your persuasion. <3

Ouch. Glad things are in motion. There was a fire in the building where I live, before I moved here - I don't remember how long it took and what the holdups were, but it took a long time to get everything in order. The fire didn't directly touch the unit I'm in, though they did have to replace all the wiring and whatnot (overloaded wiring started the fire), and it wasn't discovered until after I'd moved in that all the appliances (fridge and such) had been completely shorted out. I hope everything goes smoothly for you from here on out.

Congrats Deer & Damelon. Sounds like big missions. Tuesday, so back at work after a 4-day weekend which was nice. And of course, a short week this week.

Then another short week next week, since next Thursday is another public holiday, and I've taken next Friday off, and the following Monday (May 1st) is a public holiday again, for a final short week.

We do have quite a few of them. :D Not complaining. And don't wanna swap. Of course, if you moved here you'd benefit from them too... :D

April definitely has the lions share though. After May 1st, next one is June 16th. Then 1 in August, 1 in September, then nothing 'til December. (And we lose one since the 16th Dec this year is a Saturday, so it doesn't count in terms of getting the day off.)
