Yes!!

I thought you'd get this one Sorus :D As Savor Dam says, Nick was relishing the prospect of offering the immunity drug had he not been interrupted.

Over to you Sorus!

...and how much would that have changed the plot?

I suppose I should have had a question ready, but I don't. Surprise, surprise. I'll come up with one within the next couple of days.

"Mutual satisfaction of requirements..."

More specifically, the Amnion gave it to him (IIRC, in exchange for Marc Vestibule and company).

OK. Not sure if it is easy, or even if it has already been asked, but here is a question...

On the way into Enablement Station, two key actions were undertaken to prepare Captain's Fancy to respond quickly to whatever might occur during their encounter...

What were those actions, and who was tasked with carrying them out?

Avatar,

I'll give 1/4 credit for the big boom. (How wasn't part of the question... ;) )

But "Who" was. Given enough thought, I'm sure you'll find the right direction, here.

(and there's the whole other major task, too)

That gives you the 2nd part of the first task.

I'll let you (or whomever) take some time to put together your thoughts before I give up on the second task.
