If it's approved, take it.

If they try and take it back, tell them you've made plans to go away or whatever.

Look upon the glory of the rainbow unicorn scarf.

Of course, the colors aren't showing up as they do in rl, but you get the idea. Don't hate me because of the glory of the scarf!! :D

I wish it worked that way. Unfortunately, it doesn't when you work with someone who is perfect and always right and capable of making your life a living hell and wow do I need a new job, have I mentioned that recently?

Good luck. I have to go back week after next so they can evaluate whether I've healed enough for the next stage. Dreading how much it's going to cost - they still won't give me an estimate, and there are too many variables for me to research it - online quotes range from 'expensive' to 'so expensive you should have it done in a foreign country'. At this point I'm too far along to back out - not that that was ever really an option - but I'd like to know if I should be trying to sell a kidney or something.

Yeah, got the bad news. Gonna lose a tooth, and have to have a very unpleasant procedure done. Waiting for them to send me the cost estimate. (Ouch.) Also sorta gonna have to quit smoking. Meh.

My hope is that everyone dealing with an issue ends up feeling better about it soon.

About a decade ago I went through a lot if teeth related problems. Some extractions, fillings, a root canal and two bridges later I haven't had any issues beyond seeing the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning.

A more current issue is that I have been afflicted by a cold most of the week but am feeling much better today which is a Friday and the beginning of a 3 days weekend. :-)

Diagnosis of Leukemia confirmed. Apparently it is a variety that responds well to treatment without necessarily needing chemo therapy or more agressive treatments. But, like the thyroid cancer I have already survived, once in remission I will have to be lifetime monitored.

Positive thoughts, well wishes, and prayers while I undergo treatment will be much appreciated.

Refuah sheleimah, Piyah!

Dam-sel and I have you. Just as the three of us got Dam-et through his (much more aggressive form of) leukemia four years ago, we'll weather this, bashert.

From what your doctor said this morning, there is no apparent linkage between the two leukemia cases, even though you live in the room Dam-et grew up in...so it isn't thought to be environmental. I'm not a big believer in coincidence, but I am not an actual physician.

I'm with you on the "gonna have to quit smoking" thing, Av. I know I've got to do it, but it seems like SUCH a big step. :bounce03:

Yeah, here too, although it hasn't really bitten yet. Had 1 day with the max below 10C, but otherwise it's been relatively mild. Highs for this week are still between 17 & 20C, lows around 5 - 7C.

Meh. Been smoking for 25 years. Managed to get down to 10 a day (from 25-30) in the last 5 days. Got my estimate for the dental stuff too...pretty damn expensive. (But probably even more painful... *shudder*)

Today I am participating in a city wide disaster drill. Good to be prepared.

Indeed. I'm certified for the emergency response team here, and as I've said before, it's pretty scary how many people don't know the basics. We have adults who were born in this city who have never experienced a serious earthquake. Most of my coworkers don't know how to reset a circuit breaker - how many of them do you think know how to turn off a gas or water main? When I was growing up, those were regarded as basic skills.
