...And I think there's some black hole near the center of the system that affects all these asteroids so that they move in dangerous and unpredictable ways. :confused:

Thank you, Sorus. It's always possible that I've missed something, though, as it's been two years since last reading the Gap. They were definitely curious - and suspicious about why he hadn't mutated. The blood sample was offered as payment for the services he was after, but he knew they'd want to get their appendages on it.
