Cold, but dry and bright. I'll take cold and grey over cold and bright. And still no rain in sight.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

I think I stole that from Cov Jr., truth be told.

Things are brighter today. And now I just need a little lie down.

Heavy snow was forecast for yesterday and lots of things got cancelled, including the last day of the Lincoln Christmas Market. Had about half an inch which then melted. Snowed again last night - another half an inch but this has stayed and frozen. We escaped - it all seemed to go to the midlands and south.

A few inches of the white stuff outside. Soooo pretty! But, cold "af" (as the young folks say) and the heater had problems so the house got pretty cold but it's on a slow upswing now. Temps are supposed to go down to single digits F tonight. 8O

Haha, yes, I meant that in the sense temperatures will not be unbearable this week. :D It's been raining and overcast for about a week or more before this, so been unseasonably cool. :D

It's a uniquely English thing (isn't it?) that when two people meet in brief passing they remark on the weather before moving on. I guess it's because we have so much of it here - which again is I'm thinking a particularly British phrase, to have 'a lot of weather'. It means that the weather is either particularly rough/boisterous or changeable when used as an interchange between two people.

All that being said, we've had a lot of weather here in the UK in recent weeks; it's been cold, mild, wet, dry, windy and calm - and that in the space of but a few days. It may be entirely natural, it may be the end of the world as we know it, but damn it makes planning anything difficult! :)
