I totally get that .. my eldest son would balk at zucchini, squash and .. well he was never much into veggies period legumes and I used to cook a lot with lentils and beans .. which he now hates!!

To this day he whines if there are veggies - particularly those ones in a dish I make .. and he is now a vegetarian!!! And hates veggies!! Go figure ;)

We split a pizza when he was in town - a vegetarian one, I really love veg pizzas and usually add pepperoni or ham lol but he ordered it and picked it up .. it was void of topping all together .. it was tomato sauce and cheese!

:( :( .. it wasn't very .. well very anything :lol:

How is he getting diversity in his diet? He needs to be careful that he doesnt give himself long term health issues from not having enough different things in his diet,

The GF is vegan...you know how it feels ordering a pizza and explaining that they must not put cheese on it? They look at you like you're mad. (Veganism is not a big thing is SA. 90% of the population would live on meat alone if they could. :D )

You're absolutely right SB.. we've tried telling him, his oldest sister has tried telling him and she's got a nutritionist and trainer who manage her inputs and outputs .. she's a professional body builder .. so she has to maintain top physical condition.

My youngest son is vegan too Av .. it kinda annoys me tbh .. particularly when he refuses to eat my chooks eggs! They're free range chooks and live a wonderful life .. there's no rooster .. so he's not depriving a foetus of life ..

But I respect the motivation that drives him not to eat meat but yeah .. are there many places for your gf to eat vegan .. or does she have to prepare all her own food at home?

While not ideal, encourage your vegans to at least use supplementation. Multivitamins/multiminerals and protein powder to start, maybe.

Not that many, although it's changing slowly. Very meat oriented culture here. :D Also, I'm basically the opposite of vegan, so that makes it even more difficult, since there are vegan restaurants, but they don't generally have anything I'm willing to eat so...

Yeah I feel for your GF .. my youngest works on a cruise ship .. performer ... and they work these guys to the bone .. lol

There really arent many options at all .. and all the food is laced with light laxatives .. which is a worry lol 😂

Sheesh I guess I have an evil mind. I thought the laxative was some sneaky way to make more money on food. How boring to find it being used for plumbing :D

That being the case, don't plant them. They are prolific producers; witness the fact that the raison d etre (excuse the missing diacritical marks - the Watch doesn't like them) for this thread is how to use the inevitable excess.

By the way, the original poster will barely eat them anymore either. :?
