I'll admit, I don't know the answer to this myself. That's why I asked. It would be shameful if I didn't even know my chosen mother's name! 8O So the answer could be: she was never named, though I'd expect some proof of that.

I was wondering (if she'd ever been named).

I think I feel an MN reread coming up...

Finally, I've gotten far enough with my re-read to answer this. I've just read past the part where Terisa has been given the tour of Houseldon by Minick, and then Terisa goes back to the Domne's house and briefly discusses Minick and his wife with Quiss.

I feel confident in now stating: the name of Minick's wife is never given in the Mordant's Need story.

No, that's not it!

(Unlike the case with Minick's wife, Reverend Thatcher's first name IS given in the story!)

(Though I admit that there's something about the name, "Archibald", that makes it sound kind of ecclesiastical. Maybe it's because it shares the same first syllable with the word, "archbishop".)

Not Wilbur, but I hope that doesn't discourage you! "Wilbur Thatcher" sounds like a good fictional name, doesn't it?

This I can understand. And I'm trying to avoid giving hints. I'm bound to have my resolution crumble and give them out sooner or later.

Reverend Reginald Thatcher? It sounds believable. But Rev. Thatcher isn't a "Reggie", sorry. :?
