Had to take a taxi to work because someone let a balloon loose in the train station. I can't make this stuff up. Freaking Mylar. There was smoke coming up through the street for 3 blocks around the station. (Trains run underground.) At least 6 fire trucks responded. Thousands of people were stranded or late for work. One balloon.
Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

Thanks Sorus
and Av
No it was utterly unexpected
.. theres a place in town where shes been laid to rest. Was awful .. she had been savaged post mortem which was
horrible
We had a mini wake .. we shared stories. memories, it might have been the pot .. but we made plans lol
.. but we gave her a good send off ... and was comfortably numb .. in a good way after

Sorry for your loss of this lovely creature. Sweet to hear she was a watchdog.
Your comment the other night comparing yourself to Eeyore served me well today... I used that line about myself to lighten things up this morning...

Sorry to hear about your alpaca Sky. Looks as though you had a good wake for her.
I had an accident yesterday. Was carrying the washing basket down the stairs and tried to avoid all the bags of shopping that dear C had parked at the bottom when I slipped on the penultimate stair and landed on the floor. My foot was folded under, with a lot of my weight on it, and I must have twisted my knee. Thought I wouldn't be able to sleep as there was nowhere to put my leg where it didn't hurt, but took 2 ibruprofen(?) and slept surprisingly well in the spare bedroom next to the bathroom, with my onsie on as I didn't seem to be able to get warmed up. Couldn't put my foot down at all last night - hilarious as C had to keep lifting me up as I was getting around by shuffling on my bum, but this morning I can. But the knee is very swollen. I'm sure I haven't broken anything so am resting it. Any excuse to sit on the sofa with a book, and my leg up on a stool.

I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

oh my god sounds like you have really hurt yourself ... if you cant weight bare ..... which bare bear is it
lol and its not even late lol
You really dont need to fall down stairs just to have an excuse to put your feet up
... perhaps resist that urge and just .. ask C to hang out the laundry
.. glad the nurofen did the trick .. hope youre keeping it elevated
.. and is it alternate heat and cold packs for a sprain ..
.. take it much much easier .. so I shall look at for more IO posts

Swelling's gone down a bit this morning, Sky, and I could weight bear yesterday but the knee is still not right, I have to be careful walking and up & down stairs. I'm drying washing indoors at the moment, but looking at the sky and sunshine today I might just ask C to put some out on the line for me.
You know what they say in the old wills: "There's nothing so certain as death, and nothing so uncertain as the time thereof"! Applies to us all.
