Thing is, the same rag is peddling the same crap, for the same reason in it's desperate attempt to swing public opinion against voting for Corbyn the next time the UK populace gets to vote. Against all expectations he did really well in the last general election and the establishment is terrified - I mean it, TERRIFIED - that he might actually pull off a win on a socialist platform of policies that would put public interest over that of business in the years to come. They have thrown every kind of spurious shit at the Corbyn wall that they can dredge up in the hope that, come election time, some of it will have stuck. The one thing they haven't tried is the one thing that the public deserve, and that is to put his policies under scrutiny to see if they are viable or not.

I'was just amazed to discover that in eighty years NOTHING had changed!

Hopefully the British public know their own minds. I know itsdisturbing but there are great influences among the populous than the Mail .. newspaper.. more people are influenced by talk back radio and tv .. stand up comedians hosting their own shows .. which are mostly centre to left leaning in my experience . People are influenced by more than print media.

Then the general public are still dealing with the ensuing Brexit .. which is not ... nor was it ever going to be straight forward .. and to a significant portion of British industry and manufacturing its a nightmare.

No disrespect to the man, but should Stephen Hawking really be intered alongside Newton and Darwin in Westminster Abbey?

Fantastic populiser of science that he was, and highly respected physicist in the field of black holes - was he truly a 'paradigm changer' in the same mold as the former pair. Let's face it - our world would be inconceivably different without the knowledge of the laws of universal gravitation or evolution by means of natural selection, but Hawking's contribution - great though it is - remains firmly rooted in the arena of 'normal' rather than 'revolutionary' science, and even one could say lodged firmly in the distant ends of the theoretical rather than the 'likely to become practical' at any point soon. Not to be churlish about it - but if we open up the Abbey on the grounds of popularity rather than on world changing contribution grounds, would not comedian Ken Dodd (who died in the same week) qualify for inclusion just as strongly as Professor Hawking?

Of course he should.
Not to disrespect Newton and Darwin---but there's a fair amount of luck in the timing, the "catching on," and other things going on in your paradigm changing.
I've heard a suggestion that others did the gravity work, too---just didn't have the right timing, audience, etc.
I know that's true for calculus and other Newton work. [[His Frenemy Leibniz is arguably [and strongly so] more central to paradigm shifting/future influence than Newton]]
I know it's true for Darwin's work, as well.

And, in a way, if one were so inclined, a decent argument could be made that the big Newton/Darwin things weren't "game-changers" so much as "low-hanging fruit."

Now strength in tea is a thing that I think can be taken too far. Don't misunderstand me - weak tea is an abomination and not to be tolerated - but tea 'like bark' is bitter and unpleasant in it's own way. In tea strength matters (as in many, if not most areas of life) it is the 'middle way' that is best!

Thanks for the tip Peter, Japanese silver needles tea looks cheap at $1 per gram!! Yeowchah. They say it brings out your inner ninja?
A nice breakfast tea (Irish or English) with milk and a wee bit of sugar is great!
If I have man flu (which I am happy to report is a once every couple of years event), then an Earl Grey may do the trick too.
I have spent years as a coffee snob, where I like an authentic Turkish taste, however if I drink it after lunch on a school night I find I cant sleep properly. So tea is good.

I'm all about the coffee...I have specific preferences, but anything not shitty will do at sun-up. But tea? if I'm gonna drink that, it's all about the flowers/herbs/light flavor...the other shit is just liquid liver---it makes my tongue shrivel and my guts/jaw do the pre-vomit tingle.
