I do tend to like it in the shed. I can be manly there! :P
Its why the gods made man sheds and man caves 😏

:haha:

Funny thing .. so when Im at work in the man shed, will I also be manly 🤷‍♀️
.. You know .. just for clarity 🤷‍♀️

I am sure Ive mentioned but I am building my hubby a new greenhouse .. the last one got battered in high winds 🙁 ... he was totally heartbroken over it .. and he is such a green thumb .. it really cut him to the quick. And hed built it from scratch when we first moved there. A neighbour said ... oh no we dont have wind here .. Just let me call BUUULLL SHHHIIITTT .. we have the WORST winds for a small valley 🤦‍♀️ Just go look at the damage weve had with these non existent winds we get .. Ive put pics on facey 🙄

Anyhoo I designed and have built my panels and we just need to sink some steel anchors and I can assemble it. Im quite close lol 😂 Now I must concede that Trev has been happy to help me with it .. most grateful truly cos hes so much better with his tools than I am .. but we both get stuck in. The problem is time and weather .. and now Im away till 6 June 🤷‍♀️

But when I get it finished I will post pics

But further to that I love working with and restoring wood. Trev lets me got on with my projects but is happy to help if Im struggling with anything.

Ive restored a solid chunky table which we have next to our BBQ, Ive put a cool screen to cover the side of the studio .. but I want to upgrade that .. had some fun ideas lately. I restored an old singer sewing machine, Ive sealed almost all the wood in the house .. think rammed earth cottage slash timber alpine ski lodge .. thats our home .. so high high sealings and timber apex roof

And Im collecting broken tile and porcelain cis I think mosaic would be fun .. 🤷‍♀️

I like mosaic. Not on the floor but on a wall. It could be tricky underfoot. I remember doing a mosaic tabletop for a sidetable I made when I was a kid. (Haha it was a Gene Simmons face.... yes the guy from the band Kiss. I was less than 10 years old.)
I have done enough bees wax French polishing for my lifetime. Clear memories of elbows, wrists and fingers screaming at me. My dear wife went nuts for furniture restoration over the course of about 5 years. I accused her of getting high on the fumes. I reckon she would have been rubbing away for 12 hours a weekend for a longtime there. So anyway she cleaned up at least 6 decent sized pieces which are spread throughout our place. I prefer modern, white and clean, but my dear lerves federation style. . . . You can guess what we live in. Happy wife, happy life wins. 8)

The back shed is where i go when we get parts of the family who come to gossip. It starts off as gasbagging, and then can become critiquing. I proclaim I have an overdue chore/repair/something to concern myself with, and I head off to the shed. I have a decent sound system, lights, tools, and benches out there...... I always make a mess cleaning up the last mess though. I keep my guitar out there too,

Hahahahaha Kizza it does sound a great set up

You are way ahead of me 😏.. I havent done any French polishing .. yet

I like chunky rustic pieces and stripping them back, sanding, oiling and sealing them.

Yes me too on the wall mosaic .. I could definitely do a table top though ..

Its fun working on projects. My garage is chockablock full of unstarted projects. I purchased and shipped three timber structures from the UK .. they cost me less than _500 quid and _34 quid in port charges, including repacking to shipping standard. I was soooo stoked. They sat in a UK port for a month ... still didnt cost me any more than _34 quid .. a couple of months later they arrived I was thrilled till the Aussie port authority started itemising the costs of unloading my gear, customs charges, short term storage charges, taxes etc. So $5000 later including freight to my place ... I was soo pissed .. l but even after all costs were tallied, still cheaper than buying here by at least half the cost.

Well woke up at 5 to a rather unpleasant smell ... poor old girl had shat the bed .. when I turned over all the dogs were smacked up against me ... and I was lying on my side on the very edge of the mattress .. and two thirds of the mattress entirely unoccupied. I took the mobile doggos out first so I could remove the old girl gently without them jumping all over us. It is when I lifted her up I saw what had happened 😢 poor old girl .. so I took her outside, bathed her back end as gently as I could and gave everyone breakfast. Then back inside to strip the bedding again and clean up the mess.

I feel quite lucky I didnt get any on me. Shes not as comfortable in herself today. Its the weekend so theres nothing else to be done.

Shes sleeping now which is a good thing. So far she calms and relaxes to gentle stroking, even when clearly uncomfortable .. which is good.

Alas because this is the second bed poop since Ive been with them Ill make her comfortable on the floor and leave the heater on overnight. She has a doggie bed ... which is significantly easier to clean if she has another little accident.

An American is marrying the sixth in line to the British throne now and all the US networks are there live. I wish the couple well, but it really isn't news.

Yeah, I haven't been following it. I wish them happiness and whatnot, but I can't imagine why anyone would want to live their life in the spotlight like that.

I'm one of the Brits who takes a pretty utilitarian view of the royal soap opera; it's opium for the masses - and never more so than now. They are a good tourist draw, pretty good ambassadors for the country by and large and probably a sight more value for money than any alternative would be. Aside from that they are (to me) an irrelevance and any politician who wastes breath talking about dissolution is a fool. Given what is happening in the UK I believe the timing of this wedding was ......... let's just say propitious - but for all that I believe the couple to be genuinely in love and wish them all the best for a long and happy future together.

'Of course - you know you have.'
'Then let it end.'

Im no royalist but I wouldnt support dissolution. Yes a great tourist draw for sure .. but mostly because of its history.

I didnt tune in to the whole thing but watched some live streaming ... was unimpressed. Loved the cellist and Stand by Me ... but the rest I saw was a preach off. Not my thing 😬. .. and I think it wasnt everyones cuppa tea 🍵

Heh...I heard on some show last night that they actually generate a profit for you folk. [[[I don't recall the exact numbers, but it was something like 500mill in costs, and 700mill in income. The profit was right aroundd 200 mill, that I remember for sure]].
Wasn't really paying attention to how they calculated income/revenue, but it seems like a good deal.

There's always been an odd fascination with the royals here. I suppose the could have beens. It seems to me to be somewhat vicarious. he media here loves them mixing with Hollywood A-listers. Oprah and George Clooney were at the wedding, we were told. There'd be a different attitude towards them if they had to be supported by our public funds, IMO.

Maybe...but maybe not. The last I saw...somewhere in the last year or two of Obama, "Presidential Maintenance" was around a billion and a half per year [[that includes none of the costs associated with living former Presidents]]...if you remove advisors/official policy folk, it's still a billion.
Current office holder is significantly more. More family members, more travel, more of many things.
