Ahhh, post hole digging. Have you got a post hole digger? Going the shovel can be hard, especially if there is any gravel or rock to deal with.

TV is bad for animals.
For about half an hour last night we watched an Animal Kingdom show about the Serengeti. The dog got interested when the lions came on, but the siamese cats freaked out at the leopards. When the leopards were calling eachother, Kronos started cacking and spitting while Hades got a fat tail. It was funny, but actually worried me enough that I changed the channel... Bloody siamese cats. Nelson the Devon Rex barely raised an eyelid.

Siamese cats tend to have very strong opinions about things.

HAHAHAHA .. you make the best comments Sorus hahaha 😂

Yes gravel and rock and clay dirt .. but alas we have a post hole digger ;) two in fact a manual one and a power earth auger .. but today we didnt attempt it as it was raining and windy .. so no cementing today :(

I feel totally pumped today .. had a great day out animal care taking and brought a little kitty Lizzy home and she is curled up next to me. The fire is roaring, flames licking, and I have been catching up on invoices and record keeping .. but the dog is curled up on my left, and my big ginger tom on my lap. Honestly that cat is the laziest old man .. all he does is eat and sleep and he weighs a tonne. He is over 7kgs 🙄

I had a grey tabby that was about that size. She had the teeniest little waifish mew - people would hear her and look around expecting to see a kitten, then do a double take when encountering her rather belligerent glare.

I have to qgree with that. And they are loud! Our two have conversations which are lo-o-ng. Theyre very smoochie and jealous of eachother as well. Feeding time is literally a meooooow fest. They get on great with our dog too. One of them more than the other (cat curled into dog in front of the fire tells me we are doing something right).

One time at the start of winter, I had an important early meeting to go to. So I was up and dressed in a freshly dry cleaned suit, and put on a new tie and new shoes and was shooing the cats up the back of the house to stop them from waking my wife as I was leaving. It was 5:30am and still dark outside, but I had some things to get squared away at the office before this meeting. Anyway, the cats werent happy with me because I didnt feed them and so I went out the door.
Now the night before, I didnt put my car in the garage but left it outside. There had been a seriously cold snap of weather, and there was a heavy frost on my windscreen. I went for the garden hose to wash down the frost, and the water was not coming out too well. I didn't realise the water had frozen up in the hose, and so when i gave the hose a shake and bit of a whip expecting to flip a twist or kink out of it, the hose cracked in about twenty places absolutely showering me in freezing cold water. I had to run through about 15 metres of ice water spray to turn the tap off. It drenched me to the bone.
I went back inside, had a warm shower, and went to put on my second best business outfit. I noticed that I had left my undies drawer open, and that the jocks which were all layed in there neatly and evenly had a large wet dot in the middle of the top pair. One of the cats had peed on my underpants and the urine had gone through about ten pairs of undies. There was one pair at the bottom of the pile which i thought was not affected and still dry. By this stage my wife was awake and laughing at me. Looking back, when I stood by the bed and made her sniff my undies to check for cat piss smell was pretty funny. I didn't want to turn up to a meeting smelling like a cat tray!
I eventually got dressed and made it to the meeting which went as well as I could have hoped for.
I never figured out which cat did the job in the undies drawer. But whoever it was certainly had a quick temper and serious opinion.

Oh dear. I'm guessing that was substantially less entertaining at the time. My youngest had to be banned from my sock drawer after her bladder issues started. I always feel bad on laundry day because I have to restrain her from becoming one with the warm socks. She gets a towel fresh from the dryer, which seems to be satisfactory, but I still feel guilty. (Not guilty enough to have to wash all my socks twice in a row, however.)

Most of my wardrobe is black, and I have a soft spot for black cats, so that worked out well until I was chosen by a mostly-white longhair. She has an angora-type coat, so it technically counts as an upgrade on most of my clothes, but I don't think my boss would agree.

And angora fur is the worst .. I mean its the best cos cute and soft .. but those fine hairs are evil and pervasive and they have a magnetic connection with skin, clothing, every physical and metaphysical surface

I had an mohair angora mini lop that I adored .. she was such a cutie ... but her fur got up your nose, all over your face .. just everywhere.

But we wouldnt be without them .. would we? ❤️

Currently I have a long haired ginger, a short haired black moggy, and a white long haired rag doll and a white maltese, 2 short haired mini lops, and a big fluffy angora sikie lop .. so fur abounds 🙄

Plus you can remove enough to make an extra cat, or at least a small sweater, and they will still have the same amount of fur they started with.

This is from earlier today:

It would've looked like even more if I'd let it drift naturally, but I was trying to keep it somewhat together. Vans don't even have the full undercoat that true angoras have.

Yesterday celebrity gameshow hostess Amanda Holden is splashed on the front cover of The Sun in a bikini holding up the football World Cup in celebration of the current competition taking place in Russia. Why is it acceptable for her to be paid X thousand pounds to do this, but not for the lasses who choose to do similar at the start of Grand Prix and boxing events to earn a few hundred quid to supplement their income? These sports have been forced by the current moral panic on the issue (engendered by the same media that utilize the likes of Holden so frequently for such shots) to abandon the practice, while the celebrity glamour girls and boys get to continue with their nice little earners uncommented upon. Surely both they and the media should be setting the example?

Aww, I want to see pics. I suspect Kara has a ragdoll or two in her family tree, though the stubborn Van personality is definitely dominant.
