Today I am thinking of the kids looking to escape the Thai caves. I believe that the response of the people wnting the head of the coach for allowing them to go that far may need to temper it a little. The guy has made a mistake, and by all accounts did not eat a morsel for the 10 days leading up to when they were found. He made sure all the food went to the kids.
I was discussing this with a GP friend of mine (English originally) over a whisky, and he told me how a Chinese doctor he studied with taught him the pros and cons of good whisky versus whiskey versus scotch drinking.
He also told me how this Chinese doctor (his name escapes me) was once fed by a European man while they were interred in a Maoist Prison camp. This European man caught while on a Baptist mission was none other than Eric Liddell, the Flying Scotsman from Chariots of Fire fame.
Turns out Liddell died of starvation in that camp while giving all of his food to the kids there.
There has been one death at those Thai caves, and I hope there are no more and that they all get out soon.

What an amazing story re Liddle. ❤️ He truly was an amazing human.

Yeah I hope they get everyone out .. pretty precarious situation. Especially noting that another torrential downpour is forecast. The kids are running out of oxygen, and I think some of the kids pulled out to date were suffering from hypoxia. Cant imagine what condition the others are in.

I think that sons aged 21 and 17 better sharpen their act up because the Life of Riley will end if they don't actually participate towards cleaning this house!

I think you are facing an entirely typical attitude from young men of that age.

I also think that when I was dealing with that rubbish from Dam-et, the liquid in my cup may have been amber in color, but it wasn't tea...and some of my sips were rather larger than that term usually implies.

And its not just a boy thing .. 🙄 .. we had the same pushback from our girls when they were asked to clean up AFTER THEMSELVES hahahaha

Little bastards .. much prefer NOT tidying up after themselves retaining a preference for tidying up being done FOR them ;)

They all know that mum will just get fed up and do it herself. My youngest son who is now 23yrs .. works overseas and comes home between contracts with his many suitcases and has his stuff strewn all over the studio .... his room when he comes home. And I cannot get him to put his stuff in the draws and cupboards provided.

The last time I had to wait for him to take a trip to Sydney and then I whisked all his crap neatly into the receptacles provided 🤷‍♀️

And that's why they don't do it. :D They know you'll crack long before them.

Likewise, despite your good intentions Kizza, (and possible threats), they probably know that the life of Riley is in no danger of ending permanently. :D Oh, you might grumble and impose temporary sanctions, but they'll just go along until you either forget about it or crack yourself. :D

I come from humble city beginnings, while my wife comes from a large made good country family. Whenever I think we may be too lenient on the boys, I know we aren't.
We want to make sure that our home is a place they will always feel good about coming back to when they eventually leave. Yes we want them to be better than us, but it is more important to us that they are happier than we were. Both around the 187cm mark. One weighs 85kgs and the other one is 90kgs. So far so good. But gees can they EAT!
Rugby League game on the tv tonight. Go Blues!

Yeah they sure do. Mind you one of my girls is a body builder .. not the Arnie kind .. the fitness model kind, the other is doing a strong women challenge .. I nearly laughed my head off when she first told us this .. cos shes very small and just seemed she wasnt actually a particularly STRONG human but lol .. she has surprised us big time .. and we had these two of our girls up this past weekend. One lives in Sydney now and is the oldest and we dont see her as much and another one that is now married .. and oh my god .. they both ate us out of house and home. THEY CAN EAT .. The fitness model one has a pro card .. so cant compete in the non professional comps any more .. and she is FIT ..

They eat really well .. like not shit ... healthily .. and ALL the time ..

We have a boy that is 6ft 6 that eats like a horse, and the other three are 6ft 1and 6ft 2 .. and one that is just over 6ft.

When they all lived at home .. it was definitely challenging but the girls didnt really eat that much, it was all the boys.

Two of the boys are now vegetarian and one has just gone vegan 🙄 and the other two are meat eaters. The girls are all carnivores .. so theres that 😂

So got home at about 1am after a great girls night out. ❤️❤️ I drove the entire way between 60km/hr - 80km/hr .. which is slow ... and counted 28 roos at the roads edge and hit number 20 who was in the road as I came over a rise. I braked hard but couldnt avoid hitting him :( . . I stopped for one wombat in the middle of the road which I had to stop for and wait for him to be bothered to casually womble to safety, I passed 2 wallabies, one dead one in the middle of the road, which I had to hall off on to the road side .. and by the river crossing I saw one echidna. I was almost tempted to jump out, grab him and take him home with me.

And there were at least a dozen dead roos and half that number dead wombats. :( "SAD" as Trump would say :(

Today I think the French deserved the World Cup.
I also think the Griswalds have become the worlds moral compass. Not sure which one of the family is the really really intelligent one but it will soon be revealed.
Airport security is fun fun fun!
The Rabbitohs are on top!
Start a love train folks! Have a great day.

Does anyone else hate that picture of Einstein with his tongue sticking out down his chin. For some reason it seems to be the picture of choice for any and every reference to one of our greatest ever thinkers (having replaced the one with his hair sticking up all over the shop). Damn - didn't the man ever just take a regular photo for us to hang out image of him on! ;)
