I'm surprised he doesn't want to sit on the actual laptop (or as my cats call it, the butt-warmer).

Had my ginger at the vet again the day before yesterday, severe conjunctivitis. And we had Guy Fawkes and Diwali, so fireworks which equal pretty unhappy cats. *sigh*

Oh well, all mostly calm again, and his eye is improving. Meh.

Horse must not have been a gift, since he is getting a dental exam.

Teeth are expensive no matter whose mouth they belong to, but I shudder to think about what equine dentistry costs.

Kara is on another round of antibiotics for her dental issues. She has perfect teeth, but terrible gum inflammation and whatnot. Putting her on antibiotics a few times a year seems to keep it under control. (Glad I got a second opinion on that one, since the first dentist wanted to yoink out all her teeth. It may come to that, but I'd like to postpone it for as long as possible. A toothless cat can live a pretty normal life, but she's only about 7.)

Ahh give her chew things .. treats, biscuits .. rubbing her gums helps with gum disease in cats and doggos. Not too much wet food .. gnawing on bones helps .. raw chicken necks etc. Im not a big fan of chicken necks .. but tinned human salmon is also good .. cos of the little salmon bones.

Yeah its not cheap 😕

Haven't tried that - they do all get special treats - think they're called CET Chews - which my vet swears by - her cat has dental issues too.

I do it cos the kitties love a salmony treat .. and they had gum issues before I incorporated bones in their diet. They naturally scrub their gums.

So had the vet out today .. hes the best bet ever. He not only gives Toffee his dental, but gives him a check up and tetanus shot for the year. He checks the bunnies, the dogs and the three cats.

The sting is getting the bill 😉😂😂😂😂

Woke up at 06h00 with Penny frantically scrabbling under the bed. Little bugger has brought in a mouse.

Spent the last 2 hours moving everything in the bedroom around, and the damn thing has escaped. Can't find it anywhere. Even Penny has given up looking for it.

Damned if I know...

Merry fecking xmas.

Update: Mouse located, captured and released into the wild a safe distance away.

4 damn hours of unpacking the entire bedroom. It was hiding in a jersey at the bottom of the GF's cupboard.

And I only got to bed at 3am in the first place...

A few months ago, we found a tiny orange kitten screaming it's tiny head off around the house next door. Still no idea where it came from or how it came to be alone. But he's a beautiful, sweet, playful thing. And he farts like you cannot imagine. You cannot imagine.
He literally clears the room. We'll all get up and leave. I've never heard of such a thing.

Pffft. She got it for herself, then made it our problem when she couldn't get it. Damn cat. She's the worst hunter of the 3. She can sometimes (if rarely) catch something, but when she does, she doesn't know what to do with it. (This is probably why she hunts eggs instead. )

The ginger is an old hand...efficient. He doesn't bring back anything alive anymore.

Harley is the quickest of the 3, but also not good at killing them.

Damn cats.

He sounds cute with the exception of the farting thing lol 😂

Could be, but that's also how a mama cat teaches her kittens to hunt.

One of my first cats (who was also a tiny orange kitten at the time) had a similar problem. It would freak him out and he'd jump about six feet, which gave the unfortunate impression that he was rocket-propelled. Would have been hilarious if he hadn't been terrified. (Okay, it was hilarious, but I felt awful for laughing at him.) Fortunately he got over it within a couple of weeks - I think he just had to adjust to his diet.

Sounds like yours may have a sensitive little tummy - a vet might be able to make some dietary recommendations, if you haven't already tried that.

Well...lemme see...

Week or so ago, somebody, (not sure who, but Harley or Penny) brought in a baby field-mouse. Tiny little thing.

Realised when the ginger started circling the big Dracaena in the sun room, and found the little mouse perched on a leaf.

Catching him was a bugger...running around, hiding under stuff, eventually he crawled into the sliding door track under the door, so was able to cover one end and slide a dowel rod under the track to push him toward the container at the other.

Two days later, Harley brought in a rather larger mouse, which was also trapped with relatively little difficulty.

Few of days ago, the ginger brought in a dead one (easy to catch at least), and then yesterday morning it was a pigeon that they obviously thought was a toy, because the whole lounge was covered in feathers.

They joy of cats.
