Haha, yeah, my vet tries the same thing. My first was "No Name" in their system, the second, (the Maine Coon) was "Cat." The ginger they have listed as "Waif" because I made some comment about waifs and strays they first time I took him there, so they just took the initiative.

Well, the ginger is "he" or "him," the Maine Coon is "She" (when she deigns to show up...I'm hoping winter will see her re-appearance) and obviously the other two have names so it isn't an issue.
Hahaha I hear ya with the cat dog beds thing .. I have three pet beds .. mostly never used but are there just incase. But the cats prefer sitting on us or the arms of the sofas .. or just curling up on the sofas.

I have several cat beds, but generally Kara sleeps on my bed, Min sleeps wherever she wants, and Phedre wants to sleep wherever Min is sleeping. Specifically, she wants to boot Min from her comfy spot and hijack the comfy spot. And she comes crying to me (literally) when Min ignores her.

Mook is a snuggler. he likes to have a morning snuggle with Creator after he's fed in the morning. it's a ritual. heh. he will always come lay on me if I am sitting on the couch or sometimes if i'm watching tv in bed. he likes laying on us. but bedtime he sleeps in one of 3 places, we have one of those cat tree thingys with a circular bed on top and that's his go to. then I got him a regular fluffy cat bed and he'll switch off between those two. then Creator's sister lives with us and she also has one of those tree thingys with the bed on top and he will lots of times go sleep down there with her.
but for napping in the daytime he can usually be found wherever there is a spot of sun, be it on a book shelf, or under the kitchen nook table on the carpet, or if i'm doing laundry and the dryer is on, he'll sleep on top of the dryer! heh.
tho we have two dogs we only have one dog bed. harry uses that dog bed most often. thunder likes to snuggle on the bed with Creator and I but harry runs hot and gets too hot sleeping with us so he likes his dog bed by our bed. or the little loveseat sofa in my computer room...or the bathtub in the spare bathroom. yeah. he likes to sleep in the tub. lol!! he has since he was a little pup. like I said, he runs hot (he's got a double coat) so he likes the cool enamel of the tub or the tiles of the bathroom floor.
oh wait, I forgot...there is another dog bed, in Creator's man cave. that one is the one that Thunder sleeps in while Creator is playing wow

Thats cute .. we have a wolf hound sleeping with us atm. All dogs sleep with us on the bed .. and in winter the cats do too. Off season only Gillie will come in some mornings for a cuddle.
And I am soooo glad we got a king size bed lol cos last night I literally could not move .. and I like to spread out .. usually diagonally lol very uncomfy sleep but shes just so damn cute.

I don't think we have any cat beds. We have a short double-decker cat cylinder-thing with a round spot on top, a tall cat tree with a couple of places for a snooze, and one of those cat tent things (very plush). The tall cat tree gets a lot of use when the sun's out, as it's in front of the big window next to the sliding glass door to the balcony. The cats will fight over the top bunk on that thing sometimes. Otherwise, Morgana prefers MagickMaker's bed and Wommas prefers either under my bed or in his cardboard box in the living room. Batty put crinkled-up newspaper in the cardboard box. It's the best thing ever.

Mine are only interested in newspaper if you're trying to read it. Which makes me realize I can't remember the last time I bought an actual newspaper. Used to buy a Sunday paper every week. I should get one for them to sit on.
