How Do You Feel Today? v4

I hope you don't go to where Sorus works and fire off a few rounds..Avatar wrote:'Cause Sorus had training on what to do if there was a shooting at work, and I mentioned that I go armed everywhere.

Sorus might do his training...

Now if it was me.. then I would become a instant fertilizer factory...

Feeling lousy. Nerve pain in right arm.... back, foot ache, cramps in the other leg. Just enough to keep me from sleeping at night....
Take to many drugs as it is.. don't want a sleeping aid.
What's this silver looking ring doing on my finger?

Ugh. That's the point where I'd just break down and buy a new machine. My comfort level stops somewhere around putting in a new power supply. Wish I had the skill and knowledge and whatnot to build one from the ground up.Avatar wrote:Damn, think the motherboard on my home PC has failed. Gonna be an expensive replacement, since I'll also need a new chip and possibly new RAM. ::sigh::

If I buy from places like that I have to pay import duties and shipping etc. Can work out expensive.
Found an upgrade kit locally that's a nice big jump at a (technically) affordable price. Motherboard, RAM and a 9th Gen i7 for a bit under $1,000. ::sigh:: I bought a new case too while I was at it.
On the "more stuff going wrong" side, I stopped at the shops on the way home yesterday, and my car got broken into.
They only made off with my work bag, but it had my copy of the 5th Elephant in it, and the server back-up drive from work. Worst of all is the bag itself though, it had sentimental value to me.
Now have to get my lock replaced on the car. Meh.

It's really not that difficult. I was scared when I made my first one, but it was easier than I expected, and now I only build them, never buy pre-built.Sorus wrote:Ugh. I forgot! Duh. I live so close to Amazon, feels like it's just the way it is now hahaAvatar wrote:If I buy from places like that I have to pay import duties and shipping etc. Can work out expensive.

Cool! Good excuse to upgrade the look! Mine and the GF's are reeeaaaaly simple looking. Only "nice" look I put on was manual switches for the fans.Avatar wrote:Found an upgrade kit locally that's a nice big jump at a (technically) affordable price. yeah, it's really like big-kid legos. Gone are the days of soldering and snipping wires and such.Sorus wrote:Ugh. That's the point where I'd just break down and buy a new machine. IM SORRY DUDE! Sucks so bad. We've had a rash of breakins around here too, I have to take EVRYTHING out each time. Super lame.Avatar wrote:On the "more stuff going wrong" side, I stopped at the shops on the way home yesterday, and my car got broken into.
My day started out great!! Just got a return on a job app, I'm looking at an interview for a City position in the Parks Dept! Full time but temp, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Cleaning bathrooms, bbq, grafitti, garbage, landscapes, etc...
Only 6months and I'll double our nest egg!! After job next is: Truck and the Gun.

Sorry about your computer blowing up, Av. Although it sounds like you'll get a better one in the long run.
Sorry about the ailments, Ur-Dead. And I hear you about the pills. It seems like docs see gray hair and think they need to hand out prescriptions like candy.

Yeah, it hasn't been a great month. Lot's of unexpected expenses.
Of course, things continued to go sideways...hadn't head from the hardware guys yesterday, and delivery was supposed to be 2-3 days, so I contacted them to discover that oh, they were out of stock on one of my components, and it would take 2 weeks, but they didn't bother to let me know.
So I had to pick a different kit in order to get it by the weekend. Considerably more expensive. On the other hand, it is an i9-9900k. First time I ever bought a top of the range latest gen component.
(Now I'm worried about my PSU being able to handle it.)
Also, turns out they took my nice trauma kit from my boot (trunk) as well. ::sigh::
So...Cat vaccinations, computer meltdown, car repairs, and...I accidentally paid my rent twice this month.

oh you muthereffingboard.
I just typed a whole long THING about how I was feeling, a big longass narrative about harry cutting his foot and having to go to ER in the middle of a blizzard and how the idiots gave him freakin hydromorphone which made him whine and pant all night long and how creator and I were up all night...blah blah blah...not gonna type it all again,
and then that freakin error code that makes me lose the entire freakin post.
dammit.
you're just going to have to IMAGINE how I'm feeling.

Already been living together for a couple years so its mostly formality, which I like.
I feel your pain dude! Doctor visits (and vets) are the worst. I always get really anxious just sitting in waiting rooms, but it helps with other people. I'm totally that chatty guy talking up strangers haha.lucimay wrote:you're just going to have to IMAGINE how I'm feeling.

That sounds fun! What's it entail? Is this a full contact sport? haha Pads and helmets?StevieG wrote:My daughter has a trampoline competition this weekend, so it's dad and daughter time

Sorry!
The waiting room of my local emergency vet always has an interesting (and chatty) crowd. There's always that one person who casually drops what that particular visit is costing them, and then it turns into this weird contest over whose pet has the most expensive problem. A lot of it is probably down to stress - worried about the pet and the bill - venting and anxiety talking rather than actual bragging - but it's still weird.

Yesss... I love games like this! Social situations are my favorite place to do weird things like that hahaha, I would totally boost my cost!Sorus wrote:The waiting room of my local emergency vet always has an interesting (and chatty) crowd.
