Ok there are a number of ironies in the Gap cycle plot lines .. name at least two .. and provide evidence sufficient to support your propositions.

Two ironies I can think of in the Gap Cycle:
It's ironic that Angus never gets caught for all the crimes he does, but he gets charged with a crime he actually doesn't commit: the stealing of Com-Mine Station supplies.
It's ironic that though Nick and other humans want to keep the way the immunity drug is put together secret, when an immunity drug formula is rediscovered, it gets broadcasted through space in all directions.

Another thought, Sky:
Angus avoids execution by giving the zone implant control to Morn, but his path for avoiding execution turns out to require his being controlled by zone implants. This could be considered ironic...yes?

What was the name of the InterTech ship that first captured an Amnion satellite and acquired a mutagenic substance?

No, not
Polar Star , though I'll allow that that's a good spaceship-sounding name!

You're close, Avatar!!
Deep Star is the name of the ship that Sixten Vertugus was in when he made his contact with the Amnion. I'm looking for the name of the ship that captured the Amnion satellite that had the mutagenic substance, and it doesn't have "Star" in the title.

You've got it! I'll give you three!!!
The ship has two words in its name.
The first word could be said to describe a property of a star (other than the sun) in its relation to Earth.
The second name used to be a very popular name for a dog.
