At times it seems like the questions can be either too easy or too hard. And, I can certainly overdo the hints, I admit!

What was Godsen Frik's real ambition? What was he so afraid of losing a chance at if either Holt or Warden fired him?

That is a VERY good question, Avatar! I don't think I have any idea. Did Godsen want to be President of the Governing Council for Earth and Space?

8O :faint: Wow, I wasn't expecting that. I just reasoned that that would be the sort of job that Godsen Frik would love! I'll try to think of another Gap Quiz question soon.

Why did Captain Darrin Scroyle of the spaceship Free Lunch order some of his crew to perform an extra-vehicular activity (EVA)? What did he wish to accomplish?

[absolute throw-away answer]

A little privacy with Alesha Hardaway, his targ first, first cousin, and main squeeze.

Theirs is, after all, the most consensual, balanced, and "normal" intimate relationship we ever see in the Gap cycle.

Understood: "thanks for playing..."

Focus on where you are going and why.
Never lose awareness of how far down "down" is...but don't obsess about it.

 Hey, a throw-away answer is still a post! But of course we both know Captain Scroyle could get some privacy in his cabin whenever he wanted, or otherwise what good is it being the captain? ;) :ahem:
I appreciate the post and the humor, though, Icarus Unfallen, so as you say, "Thanks for playing!" 8)

It's so weird that that should be true, IU, but I think it is true! 8O

Any other guesses? :?:

You are quite close, Avatar. Do you mean Darrin intends to send a transmission, or that he means to intercept a transmission?

Oooh I know this .. I know I do. They were sent EVA to spy on something.. to see something and relay what they needed to know back to the ship. Something like that ... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 mmm.... serve me brain .. its rattling about in there somewhere
They clung with grapple and compression pitons to the rough surface of an asteroid not much larger than Free Lunch's bridge. At the moment they were anchored beside a concrete emplacement which held one of the relays which bounced scan data and operational communication to and from the Lab.
If the information Darrin had gleaned the last time Free Lunch visited the Lab was still accurate, his ship had reached this position without being detected by Beckmann's scan net. Lab Center didn't know he was here.
Unless he'd made a mistake--
You've got it, Avatar! I would have also accepted "intercepting scan data" as an answer.

Its your question!
