Well, my own holidays are nigh for that matter. Might be a bit thin on the ground for a while, since I have a lot to do to prepare for a month's leave. :D

Any fun plans?

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

Nope. Can't really go away, because the GF won't put the cats in anywhere, but that suits me fine. It's not a holiday unless you don't have to do anything.

So much work though... :D

Decided to reward myself for being half way to my weight loss goal. Whereas before I would have rewarded myself by having a cheat day, this time, to honor myself fitting in to size 12s (!) for the first time in over three dacades, I went with something which will last longer.

I have no plans on where this could be worn. But seeing myself in it took my breath away. And for the price I found it for, I jumped on it!

I don't know if you'll be able to see my pictures if you're not on Facebook, but my settings are set to public.

Ditto. But I don't go on leave until Friday 20th - I'll see if I can get away with not working on the 2 working days before Christmas.

So glad Saturday's compulsory overtime is cancelled, I've caught a chill and feel very tired and shivery. Friday still to go.

What a week! Helped a poor young girl who got knocked down by a car outside work. The bus always arrives at the stop with only a minutes to spare and we all rush across the road, regardless of traffic. This was an accident waiting to happen, and it did.
Everyone just stood and stared. Only me an another work collegue, and the woman who owned the car came to her assistance.
Felt very sad all that day.

We almost beat the world record last week, for the amount of processed unit goods in one week. Though in the history of the company no centre in Europe had ever processed 1.6 million goods. Which I'm told is outstanding. Beaten by a measly 100k by a centre somewhere in the US.
We will be getting t-shirts in January with 'Euro Champions - 1.6M' or something like that printed on them. I'm so exicted I can hardly wait. I can add it to all the other t-shirts they hand out from time to time.

Only hope this chill dissapates, or I'll be having Lemsips and Covonia cough syrup for Christmas dinner.

Yep, yep. Can totally see it while not logged in to FB!
The dress is beautiful, and you look great!

One of my most replayed-in-my-mind regrets is not buying a beautiful, "princessey" dress I found in a thrift or consignment store.
I also didn't know where I'd wear it, but I still wish I'd gotten it.

Luke! So glad you helped her.
Sorry to hear your day was sorrowful.
Between "anyone could see this was an accident waiting to happen" and the uncaring attitude of most passers-by, it sounds like.

Right now, I'm having a kind of boring day wondering how to get myself motivated about a few projects. (Projects that I think would be awesome, mind you!)

Had some beautiful adventures earlier inn the week when
A. A student who was a major Geography Bee champion back in H.S. called me back. I'm hoping to put him in touch with some middle schoolers from his old school. <Eeyore voice...> But it might not work out... </Eeyore>
B. One of my own tutoring students surprised me by expressing that she world like tutoring over the break.

Anyway, tortoises out y'all.

I am involved in two role playing campaigns, both high fantasy based, but also both homegrown campaigns. The one I enjoy more had been on a long hiatus between my surgeries and recuperation. We picked up about a month ago, but the sessions have been devoted to intricate planning, details, and implementation of those plans. Unless the GM decides to really screw with me, finally today we should return to actual role playing. If so, I am very excited. It's been a long time since I interacted with the campaign's characters...

Well, I've been enjoying my holiday. Barely been online at all for the last 10 days, only just starting to get my stuff together. Luckily still time to do all the things I meant to do, including massive summer clean-up. Meh. But not back at work until the 13th Jan, so all good.

Hope y'all keeping well. :D

Sorrowful insomuch as seeing anyone in a state of shock. However, she doesn't remember or know who I am. As it should be.

Welp, back at work as of yesterday. After a month of leave, a mere 3,000 emails awaited my attention.

However, (and you can see why I love my job), the boss called me first thing yesterday and said since it was so hard getting back into it after a long break, I could take a half-day yesterday and today so I could ease into it. :D

Pretty simple...object is to either carry the ball over the try line, or kick it through the posts. None of that "plays" nonsense. :D Can't pass it forwards. That's about it. :D

Monday, bloody Monday...gonna be a long week.

We got the results today for 2019. Our FC, that has only been in operation for 18 months, topped out as most productive of any other FC. We were also the safest having fewer accidents than any other FC.
Though unfortunatly our quality bottomed out as the worst.
Still, 2/3 aint bad.

It isn't that I'm boasting, or that I'm proud to be part of the company, I'm just amazed how on earth little us have been a more effective team (2/3) than any other FC, worldwide.
