The Mordant's Need Trivia Game (Spoilers!!!)

Oh, I get the monopolising thing, but hell, there's few enough playing anyway. And of course, it's possible that we could be demotivating people by doing so, since they know somebody else knows already.

(Not saying this is the case, just a possibility...not bothered about this at all for the record, just having some fun at your expense...you carry on having your own fun by all means. )

Anyway, the only thing off-hand I can think of is that it was unclear / ambiguous / whatever, but not sure that's what IS is looking for...

Havelock's Augury, once cast, was particularly frustrating for what reason?

If I remember correctly it was frustrating for couple reasons.

1. It did not show the details of how Joyse became king just actions he completed. - But the Adept at time of augury needed to know how was he able to get to the point of being able to perform those actions and that was not shown.

2. It was also frustrating retrospectively. Meaning it showed he became king after all the actions shown in augury when the truth was he was king during the time of all the actions. Thus, they are left wondering how can it show kingdom later, when we see he is king now?

That is correct!


The specific example given was the implication that he had become king after a large hole had been blasted into the side of Orison.

I think the interpretation we can draw from this is that the Augury didn't show him simply becoming King of Mordant, but rather the process of him utterly defeating Mordant's enemies and evil imagers, while uniting the three kingdoms.

Terisa named something that took the people around her by surprise when they were spying on Prince Kragan and Nyle - what did she name?

Also what did she remind them she knew from her prior life, but in her prior life it was called a different name?

My only fear is I hope I am not being too vague ...but trying to avoid making it even more obvious.

Correct on first answer - carrier pigeons. But incorrect on second question.

IS gave big hint in his 1/28 post. So I will repeat it here by saying I am hopping on to another KW thread now...

Actually, in that scene, I don't think she referenced what you're looking for as an answer (I didn't associate the question with the scene - that's why I felt they were really separate questions) but she absolutely did bring up the horses (saying something to the effect of "We have horses, too, I just never rode one").

That's right, thank you IS, it's not horses that called by another name. It's just that I associated that scene with Terisa mentioning carrier pigeons and then mentioning horses (as a defense against Ribuld's suspicion of her being an Alend spy because she knew about carrier pigeons).

I think, thanks to your hints and Sam's , that I will be ready to answer Sam's question on my next post!

I lost my book Mirror of Her Dreams and cannot verify one way or another I could have swore that she mentioned it shortly after carrier pigeons as a way of defense against suspicions that she was in allegiance with Price Kragan.
