Oh hell, sorry, been distracted. :D

Since I'm working from home and my books are handy, here is your question... :D

Ok...In Mordant's war for independence, what did the Domne do that earned him Joyce's respect / appreciation?

Well Cord Hurn's clue confused me as to what the answer might be - but here goes nothing.

I am remembering that the Domne did not care that much about Joyce's war except for fighting and protecting his own Care. The King appreciated that the Domne had such loyalty to the people in his Care.

I'm not sure if that was a clue... :D

And you're very close Samrw3...it's not quite what I was after...can you be a little more specific?

Hmmm the only thing more specific I can think of right now is that when Joyse asked how many men could spare Domne said none. The Domne wanted to use his men to protect his sheep. The King was first in shock, then the King and Domne had a good laugh and became friends.

Is that more where you were heading?

Congratulations on winning control of the question, Sam! Well done!!! You remembered the scene quite accurately, I believe.

Sorry, Sam, I guess my clue was just too cryptic to be any good. I was thinking about how the Domne was concerned towards King Joyse about his Care's sheep, and I was trying to hint that "counting on sheep" could get one into a state of sleep.

You didn't need my clue anyway, because of your having a firm grasp on how that scene plays out! Great job, and I'm happy to await your question!

Thanks both!. Yes Cord Hurn that was cryptic...but I get it now where you were going :D

I remember the scene more by coincidence. I have been (slowly) re-reading A Man Rides Through and happened to read that section not too long ago.

I will have a question by Monday.

PS I hope you all don't mind I will have one serious question and one non serious question.

The non serious question will be about a character from the books but the answer will be from something outside of the books.

It will be attempt to bring a little levity. Which at least I need :D

Haha, go for it.

(Only when Sam mentioned sheep in his reply did I finally figure out where you were going with that CH. But I didn't remember anything about the sheep at all, just that he would give him no men. :D )

Here is the question with a few parts:

1. Who brought the Image that destroyed Kragen's catapults

2. What was the object that actually destroyed the catapults?

Of 3 following correctly identify 3 of the following --bonus of getting all five!!
3. a. Color
b. sound like?
c. no bigger than a?
d. no more than twice the size of?
e. type of form - correct word is somewhere is this list: Gas, giant, wooden, leaden, corrosive, smoke, liquid, puffy, vapor, cloudy, acid, fiery, wavy

Now for fun question who does Tor remind me of from a film character? Before you say how could we know - I am giving three gigantic hints. also I will not hold up the game if after the hints you get the answer horribly wrong

Hint 1 - character in Austin Powers films
Hint 2 one famous quote: "Get in my belly!!"
Hint 3 - Played by Mike Myers

Ok off you go!

Here is the question with a few parts:

1. Who brought the Image that destroyed Kragen's catapults
CH answer Adept Havelock ---CORRECT!
2. What was the object that actually destroyed the catapults? --CH answer --big rock---CORRECT!

Of 3 following correctly identify 3 of the following --bonus of getting all five!!
3. a. Color. CH--Brown----CORRECT!!
b. sound like? CH--Lark - Sorry Wrong! :(
c. no bigger than a? CH--Small Horse--- Sorry! Wrong :(
d. no more than twice the size of? CH--A goat---Sorry! Wrong :(
e. type of form - correct word is somewhere is this list: Gas, giant, wooden, leaden, corrosive, smoke, liquid, puffy, vapor, cloudy, acid, fiery, wavy . CH--Cloudy---Sorry Wrong! :(

Since CH only answered 1 of the five correctly - serious question is still alive!

Fun question ---CH--Fat Bastard--CORRECT.

For some reason my brain jumps to Fat Bastard when I read about Tor's physical description. Yes I am strange :D

OK CH or others can someone get three of five and bonus for all five!?

Smoke, then!

And I'm guessing it's no bigger than a cow and no smaller than twice the size of a sheep! (There I go, bringing up those sheep again! I should be feeling quite sheepish about that! )

Lol - you should feel sheepish :D

Smoke - Correct!

No bigger than cow - Incorrect :(
No smaller then twice the size of sheep - Incorrect :(

Sounds like HINT [Aegan; Adriatric; Mediterranean; Black; Red; Caspian; Persian]

No bigger than - HINT you have been barking up the wrong tree with sheep :D

No more than twice the size of - HINT doorbell bird ----ok that may be confusing hint but I can't just give them away can I? :D

Above, I wrote: No smaller than twice the size of an egret? :!:

That doesn't seem quite right to me. The smoke creature was described as no smaller than twice the size of...it was some scavenger kind of bird. No longer than two crows, maybe?

CH = big dog - Correct!!

CH - egret - sorry wrong :(
CH - 2 crows - sorry wrong :(

Although scavenger bird is on right tail :)

Remember my clue - doorbell bird - now think scavenger bird

Or possibly another clue in similar trail...bee bird and think scavenger bird

Also don't forget the other question

Sounds like: HINT [Aegan; Adriatric; Mediterranean; Black; Red; Caspian; Persian]
